Unintentional harm is inflicted harm none the less.
I know a person who is a qualified nurse who on several occasions has told me that they utilize their skills as a nurse to do mental health assessments on pretty much everyone they encounter, regardless of whether they are at work or not. I am not too familiar with the medical terms, but apparently, there is a quick assessment or checklist that a nurse does to determine if a person potentially is living with a mental illness. Whether or not they realise it, or is intending to when they say this to me, I feel degraded, which lingers and then over time builds into a belief that people in the mental health field, in general, are using their skills to subjugate people like myself. I am self-aware to know those persecutory delusions are a symptom of my illness. However, it is unfair to put the full brunt of responsibility on myself for having these feelings. I feel I am always the one who has to do all the leg work to keep myself in check, and it is like all the people who haphazardly trigger me and cause me distress are free to do so.
