What's the difference between voices and voices?

What's the difference between voices and voices?

During assessment for bipolar some of the questions I was asked were around seeing and hearing things. When asked do you hear voices I said yes, but doesn't everybody? You know like the inner voice.

The last couple of days I've been contemplating what exactly is the diiference; what is considered a regular inner voice and what constitutes voices that perhaps aren't meant to be there? They dropped the subject and didn't ask any more but I have more than one inner voice, they have different accents and they argue with me and with each other. I'm not suggesting they impact on my life or anything but how can I respond accurately to the question if no one tells me what the norm is lol

What the person seeing you is trying to do is determine if you are Schitzerphrenic as well as bi polar ..
..having an "inner voice" that you hear when you read a book is not associated with Schitzerphrenia.
Having different voices that sound different is
associated with Schitzerphrenia is...( or perhaps multiple personality disorder )
Also seeing things that don't exist...
Schitzerprenia and Bipolar have an overlap at times....and maybe much more ... Then you would be diagnosed as having both disorders...
Bipolar people are more in touch with "reality" than Schitzerphrenic people...
It is not unusual if you have one mental illness to have an associated illness
If I'm on a bipolar high, I also suffer from ADHD..., if on a BP low will drop into depression

I find this dicussion valuable too. Thought about it lots of ways. Great sense of humour @MoonGal

Except my mother was taunted by He-devils ... so I think it can happen with either gender.

@AlienBP2 what do you think of the idea that diagnoses of BP and schizophrenia may have some socio-economic bias?

I've that about this in terms of Bipolar... I think these people would make good
scientists and Inventers ...because they are creative and think out of the square ...
As well as bringing something to the arts
Schitzerphrenia I don't know or understand enough to comment on...
Except they can be gifted ( and delusional)
Look at the film " A beautiful mind".,, the person portrayed went on to discover the " Bell curve" ... Was awarded Nobel Peace Price... It has applications in Ecomonomic predictions....

Other paranormal type experiences I have had is the "feeling "to call different friends; on different occasions on two occasions they were trying to ring me at the same time...
On another occasion I rang friends interstate and they said " we were just talking about you.....
For the last week I've had the " feeling to get in contact with someone I have left alone for 2 yrs...it's her BDay soon and I have a feeling it's the 6th of November but I'm getting the 12 th of November to?!
We all hVe latent abilities that we have lost; however I'm sure we have all sensed when someone is watching you ( and the reverse Id true....)
These abilities can be heightend with meditation .... Because it " qietens the mind" as such you become more " perceptive"... " spooky eh"?

Maybe today's BiPolar people are last generations undiagnosed auties ...

I read a bit of the book ... saw film ... experienced lots of the issues first hand with my ex husband ... probably am a world expert on schizophrenia .... now careful or your hubris will bite you on the bum .. apple

maybe I am schizophrenic but really good at hiding my psychosis

I dont remember him ever having his birthday celebrated when I was a girl and as he was raised as a number all of his life in an orphanage and they really had it much harder than I did when i went into the homes ...

DOnt know about your friend but its been lovely meeting you
