Struggling with sleep cycle

Struggling with sleep cycle

Hi Guys ,

I'm really struggling with my sleep cycle at the moment. I've struggled for a while and its slowly getting worse again.

I'm just needing some advice about ways to improve it- I don't have an appointment with my psych until the end of the month.

I think tomorrow, I will ring upto get an earlier appointment.............

Hi @Former-Member

I'm sorry I've missed responding to a few of your posts 😔 I'm not quite myself still. Anyway I can remember that you said you slept better when you went swimming that day. I'm wondering if doing more swimming would help. It makes sense your sleep is a little out of whack as you have started taking on new things and have a few more stresses of late. Don't be hard on yourself. Sometimes I use a sleep app to help clear my thoughts but it doesn't always work. I hope this helps. Take care 💜🤗

Re: Struggling with sleep cycle

Don't apologise @Former-Member - I understand. I think sleep is a tough one for me to crack or solve. I think I am frustrated by it too, to be honest. I would like to do more but sleeping habits are holding me back from so much. Before I would just stay awake all night to reset my body clock but I can't seem to do that anymore. I think its because I am thinking too much. Thanks for responding @Former-Member. I think I will try a swim tomorrow and hopefully get to the beach sometime this week.

How are you going- is there anything I can do to help you???

Re: Struggling with sleep cycle

Good luck with the sleep @Former-Member. My sleep is erratic lately too. It makes a difference. I'm not sure if you saw but I posted something about an hour ago on the struggle thread. You don't need to respond but it just tells you where my head is at. I hope tomorrow is the beginning of a new week for you.💜🤗😴💤

PS I liked your post on the thread I tagged you in. Thanks for that 💜

Re: Struggling with sleep cycle

Thanks for the well wishes @Former-Member. You so right- sleeping well makes a hugh difference. The last time I had a really good sleep was when I got those test results back that I waiting on. The Dr he remarked on how happy I looked and that I seemed really bright too. Its nice to hear those things. I did have a look at your thread and I did leave a response. I am hoping to have a better week too

Re: Struggling with sleep cycle

I am not the best one for advice on this topic. as it is after 3 in the morning

I gave up on ever feeling well rested .. relaxed and bright ...

but it happened again for me .. after years and years of very deep depression ..

and is a treasure I dont want to give up.

I didn't sleep well last night at all. I'm hoping I sleep better tonight though.

I know you realise the benefits of natural rest and exercise. Hope you get better rest tonight. I am going to do a singing session in a minute.

Re: Struggling with sleep cycle

Have fun at singing @Appleblossom. I did walk this afternoon for 6kms. I'm hoping to get a pool session in tomorrow. I am actually feeling a bit sleepy hopefully its a good sign.

Is your sleep ok now @Appleblossom ?

Re: Struggling with sleep cycle

It is slightly better at the moment. @Former-Member Thanks for asking. I did not sleep much last night but still had good energy today and was physically quite active.

While I was away .. I rested and slept deeply and did not do activities after midnight. I am hoping my sleep cycle will improve with the sun and the weather and being outside more.

I have felt like retiring to bed before 11pm for a few nights in a row ,, which I may start to develop a few rituals around.

My son is doing better with it too atm .. it was part of the reason I let go so much ... as he was up all night ...

How is yours going?

Re: Struggling with sleep cycle

Its lovely to hear from you @Appleblossom . Hope you sleep better tonight and your good energy continues. I find when my enegy levels are up, my anxiety levels have reduced. One thing that has helped me in the past is actually to record my sleep times.

Where did you go away too ?~ it sounds to me you felt really happy & comfortable where you were. Do you live near the beach? Sunshine is really good too for the sleep cycle and our general wellbing- I think we tend to overlook the things that seem easier and simple to do for some reason.

You sound like you have your sleep is under control and you must be feeling brighter and happier within yourself. Glad to hear your son is doing better too, and that you get to do more outdoor activities. Do you do any hiking - I know that is getting popular. I think walking as been the key for to finding myself and also slowly overcoming my depression.

I was not in a good head space this afternoon but I emailed my IVF specialist and he was very nice and reminded me of all the potential I have and that lifted my spirit. I've just had a really good relationship with this Dr and who has also become a friend to me along my journey and he is a very humble men.
