Thursday evening 5.30pm

Thursday evening 5.30pm

I'm on my 6th day off in a row. I have to go back to work on Saturday. I don't want to. It's been nice to not have the pressure of performing for people and the responsibility of caring for people.

The psychiatrist got back to me and offered me an appointment on the 12th of January........ so that's.... yeah...... hopefully I can hang tight until then.

I have a gp appointment tomorrow, going to ask for a mental health care plan.

I spent the day with my mum, we took the dogs for a walk. She drove me a bit crazy sometimes but I stayed calm and patient, I am blessed to have parents who care for me.

I have showered, lit the fire and having a cuppa. About to open my book.

God bless you

Good evening @Christheart, so many big feelings in here ❤️

Sounds like your time of work has been a really big relief?

You've taken such a pro-active support in calling the psych and setting up a GP appointment. But I'm sorry you can't see the psychiatrist until January. That's such a long time away. How are you feeling about that? Do you have some other supports you can reach out to in the meantime?

I've heard over the last few days just how important your parents are to you. I feel the same about my mum ❤️

I hope you've had a relaxing night with your cuppa and fireplace 🔥

@Former-Member

It has been a big relief. I've had time to just exist and let myself rest and sleep as much as I want. Also there were no obligations or roles for me to feel anxious about... just had to exist, and I'm managing that....

Back to work tomorrow. I hope it is ok.

I feel like it is a very very long wait when in reality I feel like I need the appointment to be as soon as possible. I will talk to the GP today about ny options, I'm also going to go and speak to the pharmacist.

I'm just taking things one day at a time, and breaking my day into bite sized digestible pieces... waking up, having breakfast... that's a mountain... making myself presentable... that's a mountain... I'm in the middle of that one now. About to try and get dressed and make up my face. After that I have some time to fill in before going to the pharmacy and doctors, I night take my dog for a walk. Then when I get home hopefully it will be time to light the fire and bunk down for the night...

Re: Thursday evening 5.30pm

Based on my own experience with a depressive period @Christheart what you've described is exactly what got me through – breaking things down into steps and almost faking it till you make it (thanks @StuF!), then one day I realised I was where I wanted to be. It doesn't happen overnight, but it certainly doesn't happen at all if you don't put the steps in to ensure you have a path to recovery, and that my friend is what you're laying down for yourself!
