Winter blues?

Winter blues?

Hi Everyone,

I hope you're all doing ok this raining Sunday. I'm not feeling so good. There's been lots of hard things going on in my life this past year. With winter coming on, I'm starting to feel depressed. I don't know how to get out of this slump.

Hey @Lila3 ,

What's been happening for you tonight?

I'm sorry things seem so tough for you at the moment.

Thinking back to the past, rainy, wintery days were hard for me too . I remember just wanting to curl up in bed. Then again, if I did this, the multitude of thoughts would come.... and then the depression would be very loud.

Is this familiar to you too?

Yeah I think maybe I'm getting stuck in a negative spiral. I watched some TV & curled up on coach now...feeling a lil better.

Hi @Lila3 Not good to hear to hear. I can relate. Great to have you reach out. Hope the support you get from the forums will help.

As a bipolar, I’ve had many bouts of depression that seem to hit for absolutely no reason. They’ve differed in terms of severity. And in most cases, my psychiatrist or supports have told me I’m depressed (I didn’t sense any change) and then corrective action was taken.

I’m wondering if you might be in a position to describe what’s going on for you…physically, mentally, emotionally. Are there any behaviour changes…including anything you’ve stopped doing?
