Hi @AC2022
I just wanted to reach out and welcome you to the forums - it’s great to have you here 💜
I’m so sorry to hear about what’s happening for you and your family and my heart goes out to you 💜
As I listened to this part of your story, I can really hear how concerned you are about the wellbeing of your children and as such, I just wanted to say that I think that it’s wonderful that you’re searching for some resources that you can use to support them 💜
In my experience, finding ways to have conversations with little ones about difficult and sensitive issues can be incredibly daunting and as such, it can be really hard to even know where to start 💜
With this in mind, I just wondered if an organisation called Children of Parents With A Mental Illness (COPMI) may be helpful for you 💜 Basically COPMI ‘promotes better mental health outcomes for children of parents with a mental illness.’ As such, they provide a wealth of information and resources in relation to parents who are living with a mental health issue for children, young people, parents, families and professionals 💜
One of the resources that they provide, focuses on how to talk with young children about the mental health conditions that their parents are living with.
As such, I’ve just included the link to this particular section of their website in case this is something that you would like to explore further:

As I sat here thinking about what you’ve shared with us, I wondered if an organisation called the Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation may also be helpful for you 💜
Essentially, the Kookaburra Kids Foundation support young people aged from 8 to 18 years of age who are living in families impacted by mental illness. As such, they provide support through a variety of programs such as activity days, camps and Kookaburra Kids Connect 💜
Although your little ones are still a bit too young to participate, I just thought that I’d share this with you in the hope that it may be a helpful resource for you in the not too distant future 💜
I’ve included the link to this particular program below, just in case this is something that you would like to explore further:

Also, just while I remember, one of the things that really helped me when I was new to the forums and still finding my way around, was that if you would like to chat with another forum member, or reply to one of their posts, place @ in front of their username just like I did at the start of my post to you i.e. @AC2022 that way, they will receive a message that you have contacted them 😊
Please remember that you’re always welcome to reach out here whenever you need to 💜
Take kind and gentle care of yourself,
ShiningStar 💜
