Hi @musha
Can you explain what MMPI is please? My childhood was fairly traumatic (or perhaps I wasnt taught how to cope, I dont know). Definitely had self-identity and relationship problems, but was diagnosed with severe clinical depression which has occurred since I was a teenager. Its only now after 40+ years that my body seems to be responding more efficiently to lower medication doses (maybe hormonal? again not sure).
Thanks for the well wishes 🙂

Hi Looney Tunes, Sadgirl
The MMPI, (Minnesota Multifasic Personality Inventory). http://psychcentral.com/lib/minnesota-multiphasic-personality-inventory-mmpi/
It is a test that tests for abnormal personality traits and for psychopathology and can identify the Borderline Traits and can help with Mental Illness diagnoses.
It is an excellent tool and your psychologist can administer it.
I do suspect that if you have had a troubled or traumatic childhood that Borderline Traits come into it and your psychologist and psychiatrist are best to handle your diagnosis. The online community can just offer support and share experiences.
I have Bipolar Disorder and Borderline Traits. Sometimes I have no idea which is which. Basically Im exhausted from trying to work it out. I just want to be happy.
Speak to your psych and see what they say. cheers

Re: Wrong diagnosis?
I'll check out the link. I've had lots of experience within the mental health systems and only recently in my mid 50s was the diagnosis changed from bipolar 1 to bipolar 2 with borderline. So I'm now getting used to a new diagnosis. Thank you for posting the link.
