Something’s not right

Hello

Hello

Life is hard! For everyone...
I've been looking for resources tonight. I called a few hotlines, and attempted to connect via webchat services...
I get discouraged so easily.
I'm not well. Maybe more than usual?
I've let as many people as I can know. My mother, my health professionals, my housemates.
I need to see a GP, but I don't know how. I keep missing appointments, for lots of reasons.
Everything hurts (my feelings), and my body doesn't work like it should.
I don't really know where to turn next. I'm frightened enough that the base "animal" instinct to stay alive is active, which is odd. I have some level of self preservation. Maybe I'm just angry, because I feel like it's unjust that I haven't recieved help.
I don't know what to do next. It's 1.51am, so probably attempt to sleep more?

Re: Hello

Hello @Drone. So sorry to hear things aren't going well for you. I wish I could say something that could lift your spirits, but I can only send my best wishes for better days ahead.

Others will be along soon. You got off to an early start! Or a late finish? Take care.

Re: Hello

Hi @Drone,

It sounds like you were doing everything you can to access support over night- You are reaching out to services, professionals and your social networks to get the support you deserve in these moment. When it feels like we are reaching out so often, and working so hard to seek help, I am hearing how discouraging and tiring it can be to keep that going.

When you are doing everything to seek support, it's understandable to feel frustrated that you are not getting the support you deserve in the moments you need it most. I hope you find that support here with us- there is a whole community reaching out at SANE for peer support, and to hear from others who understand.

How are you feeling this morning?

Re: Hello

Hi, Historylover.

Thank you, for the empathy. It's nice to know that there's somewhere I can be fairly certain that it's empathy specifically, rather than sympathy or pity.
It's hard to know what to say at the best of times, let alone the worst. But I'm doing okay in this moment.
Better days are what I've lived for for a long time. And I have had some, so I know they aren't out of reach. It's just the wait that gets tiring.
I hope that you have a lot of them, now, or as soon as can be.

As for time, I don't have any sort of schedule (c'mon, Drone, that's in Mental Health 101...) so it was probably both or neither. 🙂

Hello Daisydreamer,

I was certainly attempting... something. I often don't give things enough of a chance these days. Like you said, when we reach out often, its easy to get disheartened. But I do try to keep in mind that no one owes me anything more than any human does another. And if I have the energy and space, keeping myself is the most important thing.
I don't mean that to sound like "stop relying on [x]". I just mean, if I can hold out, I will.

I'm hoping that I can keep myself encouraged, and that I can divert pessemism for long enough to give these forums a chance, because in this moment, I don't doubt that having community of any kind is going to be helpful to all of us.

Thank you for hearing me.

Hello @Drone

Its been a few days since you posted, but I just saw this. When I joined forum there were often long lags between replies, but eventually enough happened that made me feel it was worth while.

I resonated particularly with you talking about the difference between empathy and pity. It is something I have struggled with a lot. When is empathy real. Nobody really wants to be pitied. I certainly did not, but caught a fair bit of it in childhood as a charity child.

Take care

Re: Hello

I saw this as a preview in my email inbox a while ago, and I've often come back to read it.

I'm not sure what to say in response... It's so hard for me to remember anything. But I really appreciate your solidarity and understanding.
