Something’s not right

Not suicidal but literally have lost my way and don’t know how to go on.

Not suicidal but literally have lost my way and don’t know how to go on.

Hello

I am a solo mum, peri menopausal, and I am so so tired. I have been doing this for 16 years as a solo mum, and all my life with GAD, depression, adhd, autism, sensory processing differences. I am so burnt out. I have two boys, one with similar presentations to my own. I have had get up and go for so long, starting anew each and every day. But my get up and go has got up and gone. I literally do not know how to go on. I really don’t. I don’t want to die but I have no idea how to keep all the balls in the air and keep going. I want to stop working but cannot afford to but I feel so incompetent at work and am missing sooo many days. I want to not get out of bed for 6 months. Or something like this. But I have no partner and no family help. I feel so deeply aline with all this. Please send love and support and ideas and solidarity.

Hi @Birdy33 ,

My name is 'tyme' and I am a peer support worker on this evening.

I hear you. I can see you have so many competing priorities and there comes a stage when we really need to reach out. I am glad you have reached out to the community here.

I can see you have been holding on for so long. Despite not having family support, do you have friends in your support network?

With work, do you have assistance to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) which may be able to confidentially talk you through some of the challenges you are facing?

When you feel able, feel free to have a browse around to see if there are any topics that interest you. I'd also like to welcome you to our newly commenced JOIN US: Wednesdays’ Well of Wellness – Wellness Tips for Carers! (especially for carers where we have a new tip each Wednesday as well as ongoing conversations for carers).

We also have Mindful Mondays: New activity every Monday (mindfulness acitivites) or The Ice-Memery (for a lighter distraction).

I would also like to offer you SANE's free services Connect with a Peer Worker (phone, webchat, email) or Connect with a Counsellor . SANE's webchat and phone lines are open 10am-10pm M-F.

I am sure you will find meaningful connection here on the forums.

Looking to hear from you,

tyme

Hi @Birdy33

sending big love ❤️

Wow, you have a lot on your plate and well done on doing this for 16 years, you have no idea how strong you are.

I don't know exactly you feel but I can relate, I am certainly feeling lost and low lately.

It is a really nice suggestion @tyme regarding the EAP and I only just myself did a bit of searching to find more information about my EAP because it is all a constant pressure that isn't letting up. I am so nervous about reaching out but I know they will be able to help and provide me someone to talk to.

Feel free to drop into any number of forum threads to connect with members for a chat, distraction or anything really. I will be here ❤️

Raising kids and working you deserve a gold medal you're doing really well. I'm basically a single dad but the pressure on me would be nowhere near as much as you as my partner has them most of the time. When I read posts like this it actually shows me to be more considerate of other people because you may not know what they're going through so thanks for the sharing and wish you all the best

Love, support and solidarity, eternal.

When it comes to ideas, I was presented with one the other day. I'm still working out what it means to me. Regular, or even ritualized, self-care. Not the only idea, but pretty key, no matter who you are.

I ain't sayin' it's always easy, but it almost always helps. Makes the even harder stuff, like networks and boundaries, a little bit easier.
