@Eden1919
Some people are more sensitive and supportive, and I have often sensed that about you.
I have also done a lot of listening, caring and physically putting things in place, but somehow, it was not reciprocated. I did not do those things to get a friendly response, it just seemed the right things to do.
People do have a lot of stuff to get through in life ....
@Bunniekins 's right in that.
My journey is different to @Bunniekins regarding mental illness, medication and alcohol.
Alcohol has never been a problem for me ...
one uncle said to me we all have to come to terms with the limits of love in our worlds ...
I took that as a considered caring answer. In a weird way he was the uncle who gave the most, and it was not a lot, he also was an uncle by marriage and not by birth, and then separated from my aunt, so it became complicated.
We often seek agreement in social situations, wanting others to validate us. It has not happened for me. Nup. Nobody in my corner, so now I am teasing that out a little. Last night I said ... I was not feeling too sympathetic ... about something ...it was a first. Mostly I took the world's suffering on my shoulders. We cannot control what others do. I am extending myself less these days, looking after myself more, before others ...
I do not see the med/no med scenario as the only solution. I have never wanted my family medicated so I could feel better ....though I know that is a conversation that happens a lot ....
Wishing you both a decent life ... with your time ... on this strange planet ....with its strange inhabitants ...me included ....lol
Take Care
