Everything music

Everything music

Hello guys! Tonight myself and @Bunniekins had a bit of a discussion about music. So, rather than mix too many topics in the same thread, I've decided to create a whole new thread dedicated to all things music! Let's share our love of music here @Bunniekins, @Molly22, @Judi9877, @TAB, @MDT, @LostAngel, @Dimity, @frog, @Anastasia, @Appleblossom, @LookingHopeful, @Meowmy, @Eve7, @Zoe7, @Peri, @Jynx, @Daisydreamer, @Shaz51, @Exoplanet, @BlueBay, @Former-Member, @Emelia8, @AusieRecharger, @Former-Member, @daddy and anyone else I can't think of! Share your musical knowledge and talent, please!😆😂👍

Re: Everything music

I had heard. My boss is going!

Spewing- I was lined up to see them years back, but got unwell and couldn't go- a decision made only on the night!

I don't really do gigs any more 😞

Still, I had a good run!

Re: Everything music

@StuF I hear you. I saw they had a seated section and I contemplated it for a minute, till I came to my senses and realised that is not the way to watch the Yeah Yeah Yeah's!

I'm genuinely pleased to hear you had a good run though. Do you have a gig highlight? Mine might be backstage at an Elton John concert in the 80s (I was like 7 at the time so slightly wasted on me), followed or maybe surpassed by Cat Power/Chan Marshall jumping off stage, landing in the crowd right at my feet, and finishing her set splayed out on the floor. I think I may have cried that night 😆

Many highlights...not so many concrete memories unfortunately!

Faith No More

Nick Cave

The Prodigy

Alice In Chains

I think my first concert was John Farnham with my folks! Also in the 80s

The first gig I can remember 'going to alone/without folks' (with my then girlfriend) was Jane's Addiction. That was pretty wild!

There's more, but yeah, bit of a shame the strong memories just aren't there any more

Edit: It just sunk in that you said Backstage at Elton John!!! How did That happen??

@StuF Ha, I had to laugh re. your first concert being good old Whispering Jack! I think every family was forced to listen to that cassette tape/cd (if you were rich) in the car on long drives in the late 80's early 90's 😂

You most definitely redeemed yourself with your first official concert being Jane's Addiction 🙌Hey alright, if I get by its mine...brilliant song.

*That* happened in the typical 80s way of excess and my parents falling into a Brit pop/rock circle. It was quite something 😊

Haha, yeah. Good ol' Farnsey.

I gotta admit, I still think You're The Voice is a great song...if only I had heard it about eleventy billion times less!

As for Jane's. Yep, Top Ten all time fave band (and it's a long list of contenders)

That would have been....special to behold!
