Hi @tyme
@Because I studied Psychotherapy for years but I was laughed at a lot by other students.
But one woman knew. She was/is a counsellor for people on the streets and or using illegal substances. She gave me a lot of support.
This is years before COVID.
One day the teacher asked if anyone was having a dream that needed interpreted.
I stuck up my hand and he chose me. I started saying " I am in a train with my two sons. They are 12 and 8 years old. The train was going slowly, we didn't mind because we like things slowing down. We are watching beautiful plants and trees going past the train. So much beauty.
So the teacher says" thank goodness you don't mind if you study for years and your prepared to do that . then some other stuff.
I answered " Because this afternoon, I'm taking son to the hospital to see if his brain tumour is beginning to grow again and I'm scared about it. "
So he's jumping up and down screaming he never heard what I'm coping with. I'm staring at him and I stood up and walked out never to go back again. That other woman who was supporting me came out too.
So all these morons, a couple of University Professors, well meaning people. Not one person asked me if I was ok. They did group study nights and talked about it but I was never invited. And they wanted to be Psychotherapists.
I went to a few other classes throughout the years.
And now I feel I haven't really achieved anything - but I don't want to be a counsellor but it's more self interest.
I don't get paid, I have no allegiance to my ex husband but I'm there being the only person he can trust. With my husband.
I think I want to understand more ....
Also I have no friends except two people who I see once a year for a big catch up and if would be nice to maybe get a friend
