I'm not finding my current mental health program to be effective. So far, doctors have only pretended to care. I hope tomorrow and Friday this week brings changes. If not I'm going back to the psych unit. This community program just isn't working. I wish someone would just tell me the truth and tell me that I'm no good for the community and that I belong in a mental institution. I don't belong in this stupid community, I'm a burden to everybody around me. Please help me institutionalise myself, I don't ever want to come out into this society ever again. If this doesn't work out I'm going to see what my social worker can do about this tomorrow. I would rather my support workers pick me up from this institution and bring me back there, I hate living in this community. I don't like anybody and hardly anybody likes me. Thank you!
Hi @Former-Member I can hear you're having a hard time of it, particularly today, but I just want to highlight your strength and bravery in coming here. I can see how much you are connecting with other members here on the forums since joining. I know it's not the same but can they possibly make up for part of the community in your life right now?
Just curious to know, what are those things that work for you? You know yourself best.
It's important you keep yourself safe and call crisis support if you need to.
Also the SANE support line is available for general counselling support.
Here with you @Former-Member💕🙏

@Former-Member Hey FiFi85 I get where you are coming from. I am verging on being a total shut in by choice. I dont understand neurotypicals. Be kind to yourself and know you are not alone. Love peaxxx

Re: I'm no good to anybody
So sorry you're feeling down at the moment @Former-Member . You've been like a breath of fresh air on the forums the last few days and I for one have enjoyed your company and appreciated your contributions.
Is there something you can do to be kind to yourself right now? A favourite meal or self-nurturing activity?
I'm glad you're a member of the forum community. I'll be around this evening if you need someone to sit with you.
Take care
Dimity

Re: I'm no good to anybody
Thanks @Former-Member! I felt a bit exhausted today, so I didn't do much. I usually love browsing through books, online shopping services, playing games etc. But today I felt "had it" so I just rang the SANE helpline which is really good! And I interacted with forums and finally ate dinner. I'm usually ok with eating but today I felt off and run-down and low energy. I'm feeling more myself tonight. Hopefully tomorrow will be better and I can eat normally. I have a few good excursions to look forward to this week! I knew if I rang 000 I would have missed out so I just kept coming back to the forums until I felt better. I use 000 as my last resort option because I don't like wasting emergency resources and other people's time. So I'm cautious when ringing for police or ambulance. I really want to try to make tomorrow's and Friday's appointments and my three exciting excursions! I can't disclose locations but I'm doing a shopping spree after breakfast as well as having fish and chips and a bit of a drive in support wkr's car, all crammed into a few days. It'll be so exciting! I guess if I end up back in psychER, then I can deal with it then. But I want to at least make a good effort at staying away for a while at least. Hopefully anyway...😊😌

Re: I'm no good to anybody
@Bunniekins Yep it's like that hey! I have to look for a residential mental health program soon though as in my case, I'm getting waaaaaay too isolated at home that even some neighbours are getting concerned about me. The last thing I want is a policeman waking me up from a nap to ask why I've been away without notice for a week! Some people in my neighbourhood have genuine concerns about my welfare when I stay locked in for more than three days without going outside. I don't want people to be afraid so now I make an effort to let people know I'm ok each day, just for a minute or two so I won't get a knock-knock-knock, at the door! Haha! I then have to ring Landlord and tell them not to fret about me damnit! Lol. I agree with you though, it's easier to shut oneself off when life is hard to cope with. Just wondering, do you ever go on any excursions with group or do solo activities. I'm only asking because sometimes a good walk, swim or other activity, can make you feel better. But this also depends on what you like to do in your spare time, I guess. I just hope you won't get too isolated. Isolation is ok for a while of course, I just don't want it to become counter-effective for you either, because it honestly can start causing issues for most people after a while. I feel sure you'll be ok, I just worry that you might be isolating too much. I could be wrong though. You need to do what works for you.

Re: I'm no good to anybody
@Former-Member Hi FiFi85 thank you for your concern re my isolation. I have a close small family who look out for me. I dont like going out in groups I prefer going out with one or two prople. I have an aversion to crowds which stems from childhood. I just get mentally overloaded. Love pea

Re: I'm no good to anybody
Sounds like you could use a different team. You're coming out with the opposite of what they're supposed to do. You're probably right, in that, it's because the institution is too institutional. Sadly these institutions still exist. I came across one myself, not too long ago. It's a scary thing. These systems tend to blame the user and they get away with it because we still have a way to go de-stigmatize neuro-diversity.
Big hopes on you finding the right team. You're already doing a lot of good work. The right team would be great for you right now. And, you'd be great for the right team.

Re: I'm no good to anybody
@wellwellwellnez I'm in the process of getting a new team set up now. I can't go into the details for obvious reasons, but I've had boot a few people off my care list and new ones will come to me in the coming weeks. I made a few people aware of my situation so now I'll get the right treatment before things get out of hand. Actually, a psychiatrist is trying to keep me in the community so they've stuck up for me (again I can't disclose the story or which psychiatrist), and at times I get very upset because I'd rather be treated in a hospital. But I feel sure I'll eventually not feel so strongly about staying in the hospital when this treatment program gets fixed. I just have to play the waiting game. This bloody f@ken waiting game!!! At least until I feel better (evil not-so-professionals are being dealt with so don't worry), I have heaps of good outings to look forward to and a few currently very good professionals communicating with me. Of course there's a lot of unanswered gaps in my story because I can't disclose certain things on here. But trust me @wellwellwellnez, the sht is being dealt with and I hopefully won't have shit days forever from now on.

Re: I'm no good to anybody
Fair enough Pea @Bunniekins, at least you've got strategies so you aren't too socially isolated and you're still doing ok! Good on you and thank you for alleviating my concerns! XXX

@wellwellwellnez I've got ya with the user being blamed attitude. Mate, as soon as people start treating me that way, the sparks go a-flyin' lol! a-FLYIN'!!! I don't tolerate nonsense from anybody.
