Nature as a healer

Nature as a healer

‘For the Love’ of Nature’s: patterns, textures, colours, shapes and beauty…

Nature is often my muse and helps me drop into a place where I am able to see the uplifting beauty around me.

It has been & continues to be a significant healing resource to me, it has also supported me in some of my darkest times and I’m wondering how that is for others?

I have endless images on my phone of all sorts of nature inspiration and often find them a useful reference when I cannot get out into nature & find it very grounding for me.

I’m just curious of those folk here who also have a love of nature, what ways you find connection with her? Be inspired by her? Learn from her? Live with her?

Just wanted to end on sharing a selection of some of my recent images taken, would love to hear from & see any of your own images &/or thoughts!

I'm getting things sprouting. Got to fill more garden planters with soil next week @Shaz51. But it seems to be coming up! Had a rain deluge over the weekend so the soil is damp but will water it this evening. Its starting to get interesting... Getting involved with seed swaps. Same old birdlife around the place in the neighborhood 😊

Re: Nature as a healer

Haven’t spent much time outside in recent weeks. Covid and all the rain we had here kept me inside. Currently sitting outside now, need to tend to my plants. And looking at all the weeds that have popped up between the pavers cause Of all the rain.

i think I’m slowly figuring out my begonias and how to care for them.

but I will share this photo. It’s a queen of the night flower. Usually only come out in bloom for just one night and then it dies. But this one was still in bloom in the morning. Not sure I’ve ever really seen it in flower before.

Aww, @Former-Member , you live by the sea? You're so lucky! I haven't seen the sea for decades. 😞

Oh how magnificent @Bow! 🌼 😍
Thanks for letting us see this beauty!
And to have caught it before it closes/dies as well being 'queen of the night'. How interesting.

Yes, at the moment I live rather close to the sea & feel very grateful as I know that won't likely be for maybe too much longer. I am rather connected to the element water & have found living close to it really supportive.
How far would the closest body of water be to you @NatureLover?

@Former-Member Only about an hour and 15 minutes' drive away, but I have agoraphobia. It is moderate, which means I can leave the house, but I can't go far (15 minutes' drive, preferably) and I can't stay out long.

Oh - I was thinking you meant the sea, but you said "body of water"...there is a lake locally I could go to, but I find the sea magical, which lakes aren't (to me).

I'm so glad you have the sea nearby at the moment. I'm sorry to hear you may have to move away from the sea in future...I hope not too far, so you can still go and visit it.

I know this group has been inactive for quite some time but I stumbled upon it and thought how lovely that there are other people who feel so happy when immersed or in view of nature.

I love it too, when I walk the dogs, I look for the kingfisher that is always in the same area, like an old friend. I curse at my mischevious hounds if they find and try to hurt reptiles before I can distract them, bearded dragons are my favourite. I sit at my dam and encourage Dotti (red cattle dog) to have a swim. There are lots of different types of weeds and wildflowers, some that are so pretty and delicate.

Im not much of a movie buff but its because of my love of nature that AVATAR is one of my favourite movies. I recently watched Avatar 2. I love the connection of the tribes people to their environment. It made a lot of sense to me.

I dont really like modern day society and all its materialism and disposable purchases because of the impact its having on our environment. But I try to balance fitting in with society and having as little impact on the environment as possible.

Ive always gravitated toward pockets of nature since I can remember and think it has magical mental health qualities.
