Christmas sadness

Christmas sadness

I was about to give up on all this because I've just spent an inordinate amount of time working out how to do a new post.

I just want Christmas to be over. I got tired of people asking me if I was all ready for Christmas. I have one relative here and that's it. Not everyone has a big family. The question triggers me and it's so annoying to hear that question. Nevertheless I feel sad that Christmas will never be the same as it used to be.

Re: Christmas sadness

Thanks for posting @Beads . I agree Christmas brings memories of other times - perhaps happy, perhaps not. The lights and festivities leave contrasting shadows for some. I wish you dtrength to get through the day and good health and happiness in the New Year - we sll deserve that.

Re: Christmas sadness

Thanks for getting the inevitable ball rolling.

And, let me take the occasion to wish you well.

Xmas has been a challenge for me since I don't know how many xmas's ago.

I think it's easier the more you take the pressure off.

That's my main strategy for this year.

Jesus preached forgiveness and humility, after all.

We'll get through.

Re: Christmas sadness

@Beads Well done on doing your first thread. 🙂

I'm sorry your Christmas is sad. I understand how you want it to be over - I can relate, I've always felt that.

Just half a day now and it will be over for another year.

It's true, I've found this.

Hoping your day is manageable, @wellwellwellnez 🙂

Re: Christmas sadness

I absolutely resonate @Beads . I don't see the 'merry' in Christmas nor the 'happy' in new year.

Over the years, I'm learning to manage this time of year, but I still absolutely see that it can be so triggering and challenging for many.

Re: Christmas sadness

I have the same problem finding my way into the forum every time I post something if I haven't done it for a while too, @Beads. And the same problem dealing with the xmas questions. There must be a lot of people who don't look forward to the festive season. Sending best wishes to you and hoping you're doing alright.

Re: Christmas sadness

Hi @Beads Thanks for the post. The hardest day of the year for me and happy to see the sun finally setting on this day. It's been a long one for sure. If only my neighbours would turn their Christmas music down. Enough already. I hope you've managed to get through the day okay. 🙏❤️
