Disillusioned

Disillusioned

I've made the decision to cancel my NDIS services.

I can't stand this current governmental bureaucracy. This covid pandemic has really worn me down. Fancy not being able to receive services provided under the NDIS without a covid test! We never used to live this way.

I'm not very happy at the moment. I need time to myself; I'm sick of hearing from neighbours and medical people; if I can't leave home without a negative covid test, well reality stinks but that's just how it is. I'm happy enough playing games at home all day, I don't need anyone to convince me to change how I live. I don't care what anyone thinks (I'm sorry, no offense intended). it isn't you guys on here, it's just life, I'm sorry! Thanks guys. I hope everyone has a good day. I'll be back later.

Re: Disillusioned

Can you take a break without cancelling all together @Former-Member It would be a pain to apply again.

There’s still a lot to sort out with covid regulations and people with a disability cannot be discriminated against.

National Cabinet is trying to get the states to agree on a uniform approach which isn’t easy when everyone is so opinionated.

Sending lots of love

Not sure who is pressuring you to get a test. Maybe try different agency. I am fortunate I have received NDIS without a test or vax for 2 years.

@Former-Member

The only test I had was at a prison when I went to get my son. The guy who delivered it was cool ... we connected over his Irish accent and my name .... he came up to me later surrounded by screws doing their serious throwing their weight around thing ,,, and Irish guy did a "Sorry Susan ... I have bad news ... and we both just cracked up laughing ... cos I knew i did not have it.

@Eve7 Thank you so much for your kind words! I was advised by a medical person yesterday to keep my support workers and to just explain to them that while I appreaciate support, I need a break for a while. This will prevent my support network people from assuming the worst about my mental health while I'm resting at home.
I'm also told to allow my support workers to continue to come into my home as I can be assisted through a mental health episode while they're with me, if I deteriorate. Touch wood this won't happen! But my physical safety is a priority at the moment. I'm sitting at my dining table with a warm cup of coffee so I'm in a safe position right now and these forums are making me feel safe as well, thank you guys for life!!!
I agree, it would be a pain to re-apply for funding. So after my extreme temper tantrum yesterday, I've decided to just let things happen and just keep control over my own health and mental well-being at this stage. That way my NDIS plan can be fixed and I'll still have support services in place.

Re: Disillusioned

Lol @Appleblossom this is hilarious! I had to get a covid test due to a minor cold, and nobody was available to do the in-home test kit for me. So with this stress, as well as a few other grievances, I had a breakdown and it all went south from there.
For your son, I hope he's ok now! Prison guards can be funny sometimes, but I guess everybody has a job to do to keep each other safe and well.
