I feel angry

I live in a regional area and I just found out today as it seems I have a reoccuring skin infection that my GP is not longer bulk billing. I am very annoyed because I see the doctor at least every 3 months as I'm diabetic and can barely afford my other bills. I need to go to the doctor as I've woken up with a skin infection in the same spot that I had last year, and earlier this year (the skin is still not healed), earlier this year the nurse swabbed it and the doctor threw the swap out so don't even know whats causing it and I don't do much.. .

My GP is good but lately I ring up and have to wait a week or more to see them and I think its ridiculous considering I used to live in Sydney and would get in the same day everytime and always bulk billed.

Anyway I don't know how me venting can change much but thats how I feel.

I feel the same way. The cuts have had real impacts. Scary impacts. I use the term "scary", straight up and unabashedly, because there's a federal election coming up.

They told us there was nothing to be scared of. Yadda yadda yadda, now almost no-one bulk bills. I'm in a relatively big town an we're out of bulk-billers, every time I check.

I don't think our collective health can sustain much more of the Liberal government. Sorry for being partisan, but I want you/us all to be well. We actually need a public health system to do that.

Tbh I am disgusted by health professionals who charge above medicare. They do get better paid than most professionals and should settle for that unless they are nothing more than money minded sods scamming the govt as well as patients. Its a kind of blackmail if people are unwell..Sounds like your Gp has waited til the pracice grew and felt he/she should get away with it.

I can relate to being so poor you can't afford the doctor. My heart goes out to you. Wishing for a solution for you...
