Can someone pls tell me I will be ok?

Can someone pls tell me I will be ok?

This is my third post. My anxiety and depression are no better. The med increase should work in about a week, I hope. It's raining outside and my son is awake watching a DVD, he's six. My husband is away, 2.5 weeks down 1 week to go. I just need someone to tell me I will be, it will be, okay. It's a thing of mine when I feel like this, because I'm on a rollercoaster of no highs, but 'going through the motions' to that plus dispair. I see a psychiatrist late October. How to hold on right now seems hard to see. I wish I could be there for you as I'm asking you to be for me, but please, can someone tell me it will be okay?

Hello @Whim

I know that we are surprisingly tougher than we believe. As mothers how do we survive labour .. but we do ...

Its ok for littlies to watch a DVD on weekends ... special treat ... work out little rituals that make your time together work.

I have spent a lot of my life "hanging on' til next appointment .. .. we are all different .. and I do think there is dignity in our uniqueness.

Hey @Whim,

I think I know what you mean and are feeling with this. It's something I sometimes crave too especially since being single. Just the thought of someone putting their arms around you and reassuringly saying "it's going to be ok, you'll be ok". I know it's virtual but "you'll be ok @Whim, things will get better". October isn't long now and hubby will be back by then too. I know the days must seem really long right now. I've only been managing on hour to hour at the moment or I go right under. Some days I just get through by distraction. Today I guess I've only had to distract from the really bad thoughts once this morning so it's an ok day. Hoping you'll have ok days from now until hubby gets back. Take care💜😊

Hey Whim,

When things get tough remember you have a 100% success rate of getting through everything life has thrown at you so far.

You'll be okay, just hang in there. In a months time today will be a memory 🙂

Re: Can someone pls tell me I will be ok?

I can absolutely relate to that rollercoaster that doesn't seem to have any highs but let me tell you that you WILL be okay. It's not helpful that you have to wait that long to see a psychiatrist because usually when we are at this point, reaching out for help, it is when we are - for lack of a better word - desperate. You sound like you need something immeadiate and I think you have made a wise decision by coming on here and an even braver decision for posting. The truth is that even though you're not enjoying the rollercoaster you're on at the moment, they always have an ending, where it slows down and next thing you know, you're on a flat straight travelling towards the opening where you can get off it and reflect on what you've just been through and feel okay.

Because you will be okay.

Having only just joined the forums myself, I hope that there is content on this site that is helpful to you and gets you through each day. Because that's just what you need to do for the moment - get yourself through each day. They don't have to be good days but you just have get through to the time until your meds kick in properly and until you can speak to someone professional, in person. Think of the things in your life that you are grateful for and incorporate them into your days as much as possible to get through. Please believe that you are not alone in this world.

You will be okay. You will be so okay and it will be worth the wait.
