Is It Just Me???

Is It Just Me???

Is it just me or have others noticed a worsening of mental health since having the covid vaccine?

I had my 2nd jab a few days ago. I was really scared to have it because of the horrible adverse reactions I've had to drugs in the past, plus the worry about how it would affect my MS etc.. I'm happy to say so far I'm doing well, but I have notice my anxiety, panic attacks depression and feeling of being agitated has increased. I'm also feeling like I'm continually on edge. Could it be that something in the vaccine has caused a flare up/worsening of my mental health. Could it be I'm just struggling with the whole covid thing? I really didn't want it done but knew that it was something I had no choice with, like everyone else.

@Elephanthart this makes total sense. As I mentioned previously, experiencing anxiety around getting the vaccine was a really common experience for people, but I want to acknowledge that your circumstance must have made that even tougher again.

I hope you're feeling a little better for having voiced your feelings here, @Elephanthart, and that you feel supported by those around you 💙

Makes so much sense. Thanks for sharing your story. It's important for us all to remember how complex these things eally are. You're struggles are our struggles.

Of course, they always are but the pandemic has you know, brought us together in a very ironic way. Not always in the best ways, but that's because of problems we had long before covid came along.

@Elephanthart

Thanks for providing the insight and you are right, you have had some unique experiences and it's great that you can talk about them here.

One of the things that stand out for me is those previous experiences and the feelings associated and the "feeling of it getting to hard". From what you have said, it sounds like you spent a lot of time explaining yourself to people and talking about what has been happening for you, and that the current situation makes you feel like you have to keep explaining yourself, such as why you don't have a mask.

Is what is happening internal, like is it because you are sick of telling your story or is it that you feel like a burden for having to continuously ask?

Again thank you very much @Elephanthart for sharing. Our stories are so important and they are the longest lasting legacy of us.
