overthinking ,restless sleep, needing to talk to someone

good morning everyone I woke up after a restless nights sleep think this is the third night in a row,I think the feeling down issue has passed thankfully, now its just anxiety rearing its ugly head, mostly in the nights,I rang lifeline yet again last night and did have some conntact with a family memebr who cheered me up but at the same time christmas in two weeks has got me anxcious, financial worries of bills that need clearing before then ,especially because we are travelling to see family at christmas time ,besides that I have the pressing need to speak to someone in my life and the thoughts tend to keep popping up to do a conversation or connection with someone that Id really like to keep going, but have been worrying about a little too constantly ,I have to remember not to just see things in a negative light ,I feel the need to just talk things out a bit instead of bottling worries in my mind, hope they choose to speak to me LostAngel ps am safe and will try to distract and get things done today that need doing

Hi @LostAngel

I read that you're having trouble with sleep and you've pointed out that anxiety is causing you issues. That's not great at all. You've identified Christmas as being a potential issue along with financial issues of bills also being a cause of your problems. I'm proud that you've been able to identify these issues as at least that is a starting point. I also read that you're getting some help from lifeline which is great as it shows you are willing to reach out for help which is brave and courageous of you. Well done!

To be honest, Christmas is a stressful time for lots of people and when you add family into the mix, often that just adds to more stress. Have you tried ways of getting in some self care so you can focus just on yourself and be in the moment when things get too much? Simple things like having a warm bath or shower with some relaxing bath or shower gel often works wonders for me, especially if it's lavender which I love. Maybe find time to go to a park or garden and just sit and soak up the nice weather whilst being outside in nature might help? Journaling is often good for writing things down and sharing your problems as once they're out of your head, often they become and feel less scary and intimidating. These are just some ideas I've come up with and they may or may not work or even suit you.

Take care.

Judi9877☺️💐

We are here @LostAngel ❤️

I understand the stress around Christmas. That will be nice to see family over the holidays though, I hope you can find a way to enjoy it. I would love to see my family just for a day but totally understand how we all get caught up and focused on our own lives.

You identified that you need to see things in a lighter way which is a huge strength, I need that reminder also. I need to remember that things are not as bad as they seem in my thoughts. Just taking it one day at a time. Some days are better than others and today feels a little more hopeful than yesterday, getting there. 💕✨

thanks @LookingHopeful and @Judi9877 exactly I need self care and maybe also self acceptance about some other worries on my mind,Ive reached out to one family memebr already today who helped me to see some things in a different light,I geuss as much as I need time alone I also need one on one advice or different perspectives other than just my perspective on things, today so far for self care Ive had a hot shower, brushed my hair, brushed my teeth ,put lip gloss on,Ive changed into a fresh change of clothes, watched a bit of a favourite netflix series, had something to eat but might grab a snack soon, might focus on uploading some Jobs online that needs doing ,maybe paint my nails as I didnt get around to doing that and possibly listen to music on my headphones while looking at possible christmas gifts online,Ill try to keep busy but in a calm way of getting things done, might give my aunt a call a bit later, yes Journaling would be helpfull,I would love to be outdoors but unfortunetly as I dont have a car for the time being its not as easy to go for a drive where Id like to go but I might at least spend some time in the backyard or some kind of mindfullness meditation to help sleep tonight,as fresh airs a great idea, the third worry on my mind was about being honest with my romantic interest about some things which I did need to just speak about and Ive done that but as yet no response,I spoke my honest truth about some things but well its a matter of waiting now so its best to keep busy I guess ,thanks both of you for your support today very much appreciated ,Im telling myself that old quote you cant have your cake and eat it two ,in terms of romantic interest, maybe time to reevalute things there depending how it goes,I was going well with him and trying to keep things light ,flirty and fun, then every so often I find myself feeling more serious about things or staring to worry too much about the situation, the weathers nice today so Ill try and get at least something done but again thank you

You are doing a fantastic job @LostAngel !

That is a truly remarkable list of taking care of yourself and being kind to yourself.

I hope you can find the answers you are looking for in your relationship. You deserve to feel fulfilled, cared for and safe. I like serious relationships because it feels so secure, even if nothing else in life does feel like that. I know I have found a truly amazing thing with my significant other but omgosh I must remind myself to not take it for granted when I am feeling down. He works alot and I have too much time on my hands in a remote location.

I might watch a christmas movie later, I dont know why but each year I love to watch Disney's I'll be home for Christmas as I always get a laugh out of it.
