Daily Check In Space

Daily Check In Space

Hi Friends, Family and Carers

Caring for loved ones living with complex mental health issues can be really challenging, and the carer's experience can often be overlooked and/or difficult to talk about day to day. We have created this space so that those feelings, challenges and accomplishments can be heard, and to promote carer's wellbeing and self-care.

To participate, here are 3 questions for your daily check in:

1) How are you feeling?

You can use a scale of 1-10 (1= really bad , 10= really good), if you would like to.

2) What is one thing you have struggled with, and one thing you have done well?

3) What is one nice thing you can do for yourself today?

You're welcome to check in daily, or how ever often you need to! Please just remember to be respectful and kind to each other as each of our experiences are so different.

Feel free to tag any carers you know in this space!

Re: Daily Check In Space

i hope it wont be messy @Bunniekins they need to see it for what it is and not dismiss your concerns. Im seeing so many people fall through the cracks because they dismiss it as 'normal' for that medical condition.
Take some of the drawings if you have to, showing them physical evidence and not leaving it to the imagination can be helpful sometimes too

Re: Daily Check In Space

@outlander funny you have said bring his drawings because I have talked him into bringing a book of his full of his gun drawings and the entities which he believes he is one of. He doesnt believe his family are human he believes we are dragon like creatures .....

Re: Daily Check In Space

these are the things they need to know and see @Bunniekins they need to see it through his eyes and not through what they think he should be seeing.
His perceptions are off but they are his perceptions to own so they need to work with him in what he needs. I cant really imagine what he would be thinking or feeling, if i seen dragons and these entities id imagine not knowing who to trust or where to turn to for help in his 'fantasy' type world his brain perceives to be living in
