Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

Hello to All Members

This is just a place where people can catch up with Henry and others,

ask or answer questions

have a 'chat and coffee',

an imaginary 'joy flight',

just 'hanging out in the hangar'

{cleaning, polishing and mechanical assistance always appreciated},

to talk about any subject that complies with guidelines, available here > Guidelines & Info <,

or whatever else we might consider appropriate and possible.

Everyone is Welcome.

With My Very Best Wishes

@HenryX

The following details are just for interest. Though I was not able to complete flying training, the most exhilarating experience I ever had, on my own, was my first solo training flight in a Cessna 172

Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum

I remember watching these beautiful planes {in other livery, paint and identification} landing on the Brisbane River when I was a boy. They looked like huge Pelicans as they glided down onto the river.

The story of World War II's PBY Flying Boat

There was also a Catalina Flying Boat base

at Matilda Bay near the University of WA on the Swan River near Perth

Today {Thursday – now yesterday} I went, with a special friend, to the funeral of a fellow with whom I enjoyed company and some interesting, enjoyable and often humorous situations and events. In a sense, while all such occasions warrant recognition and respect for individual people's feelings, the day was an opportunity for pleasant reflection on his life with family and friends, for which I am also very thankful.

@Emelia8 It is such a nice feeling when we know that others enjoy our place and space in real life. I can say the same for the “Hangar”. It is really pleasant to know that you @Anastasia and others feel comfortable here. Thank you, and all other visitors also.

@Anastasia I feel fortunate to have comments by @Emelia8 to which I can add my own concern and support. The fact that you also felt that the support you received from Julie helped you in processing following events of the day, is lovely to have been able to acknowledge. I am sure that there are waves of support flowing toward you and your boy. Really pleased to know of your having the opportunity to speak with a special friend today and the pleasant feelings connected with the person and conversation.

Yes I received your wave and hello, its quiet statement and meaning with much appreciation.👍✔😊 {I am still very much a novice with emojis}

@The-Hams , I also enjoy your references to 'flying' and the enjoyment, I believe you are aware, that I derive from your comments.

@ArtistZ , I do believe that medical and psych people often give a little extra time and I tend to content myself with the idea that if they give that same level of treatment to me, then I am very likely to be satisfied. I remember working in a government department and finding it exceptionally difficult to confine interviews to the mandated time allowed for them. It was really very frustrating. I like the lotto ticket reference.

@Appleblossom , I'm pleased that we share the enjoyment of Duelling Banjos. I also like “Alive (Silence Rattles In My Brain )”

. My 'taste' in music is on the quieter side, with a few exceptions like Tchaikovsky's - 1812 Overture (Full with Cannons), Bolero {played with volume up} and quite a few others in that vein.

@Mumi I am so pleased that you can see the interaction between the members here as positive and a sign of getting on well. You are not doing anything wrong with regard to your interaction with others and me. I have enjoyed each of the interactions and correspondence between us. You will notice that others are also cautious about how much they say in the forum. Some of those members engage with each other up to a certain level. It is that interaction, discussion and sharing that also helps each of those people with the issues in their lives that they wish to keep to themselves.

I can certainly say that the interactions and 'discussions' {in writing} that you and I have had have been enjoyable and uplifting for me, for which I thank you most sincerely.

Something about the forum is that when you talk with others, especially those who have a lot going on in their lives, you are often offering them a welcome distraction and diversion from the issues with which they are dealing. In this way you may feel that you are adding an extra burden. But that need not necessarily be true for them.

What @Anastasia has said to you really tells you what I have written. And I wrote that before I had read Anastasia's note to you. So we offer that message independently and also jointly.

@Rhye thank you, and am enjoying your interactions and supportive comments. I agree that there are times when it is good if we can relax and ask for assistance, and so special when we receive the help that we have sought.

@Shaz51 Nice to see you here @Shaz51 and thank you for mention to others and me. I like the coffee and cat combination {in another thread I think, maybe getting my threads crossed!!!}.

With My Best Wishes to Everyone

I'm guessing it's not a good day for you @HenryX I lost my mum this year. It's tough, I understand.
Found a photo of how my gardenia used to look. I'm not sure why it's not blooming anymore. Any hints?
