Feeling a bit low tonight

Feeling a bit low tonight

I don't know what's wrong with me!

I just feel overwhelmed and low. I shouldn't be however as everything is in reality going well. I just am fighting falling in a heap and crying my eyes out for some reason. I slept most of the day away today and still feel exhausted.

The only thing I can think it could be is my level of my depot injection waning (I'm due for the next dose Friday). Usually that doesn't make me feel low and overwhelmed though.

I just feel like a real "Misery Guts" this evening.

@Queenie. No such thing as shouldn't. We just feel how we feel. Our emotions aren't wrong. So try not to be hard on yourself. Today is a rough day for you. Sometimes when I sleep too much - my emotions become very fragile. And it's easy for me to feel that I may slip back towards depression.
You probably don't feel very energetic at the moment. But I wonder if there may be something you could do to take your mind off things.
Did you cook dinner tonight? Have you eaten enough?
What is in your Comfort Box? What helps you feel better?

Energy isn't handed to you its a function formed by one of your body systems and you have to be mind motivated for it to give you a boost.

Re: Feeling a bit low tonight

Thanks for your replies @utopia and @Beebe. I spent the last couple of days laying low and feeling sorry for myself basically. I managed to tidy my unit before my MH nurse came today to give me my depot. I had a big night last night drinking (which I know isn't good for me because I skip meds when I drink), but it has been a while since I last drank so it's not a habit (well yet anyway).

I didn't tell my nurse how I've been feeling as I don't want to be seen a faliure, but I'm guessing she already knew and basically told me I shouldn't have come out of hospital yet. Oh well I'll manage I guess on that front!

Apologies for not replying until now, I've been pretty scatterbrained and blah.

@Queenie. It is so important to be as honest as you can about your feelings - to your support team & to yourself.
You are NOT a failure. We all have these ups and downs in our mental health recovery.
Unfortunately alcohol just brings down our mood. So maybe save the drinks for a special occasion.
Do you feel like you have come out of hospital to soon? I know your mental health nurse said it. But do you believe it? Are you thinking of returning to hospital? Or maybe have more regular apoointments with all your treating team - gp - psychologust - psychiatrist - community mental health team.
What do you think you could do today that would lift your spirits? A soak in the bath - a walk - sitting outside listening & looking at the birds in the park - talking to a friend - making a special meal or desert to share with your gf?
Do something special for you.
