unsettling recent news events and being mindful of what there is to be Grateful for

Hello Everyone Recent news events although I dont usually talk about politics and hopefully this is within guidelines on forum, recent news events have been very sad and unsettling in regards to whats happening in other Countries around the world ,Im thankfull to live in a Country Like Australia where our Humanitarian needs are either worked for or Provided every single day ,gratefull to have amenties that we need like running water, food, education, medical care, homes to live in and last night I was even thinking as I fell asleep how gratefull I am to have a house to live in and a comftable bed, theres so much we have that sometimes we take for granted like the ability to safely go shopping for our food in public,or to drive cars or work or study ,when there are others in the world who unfortunetly through no fault of their own are desperate to flee there country and their home and everything they own, lets be gratefull for all we have in our country,be thankfull for our families, homes and all the little things that make a difference to our daily lives Im not saying this to guilt anyone but its just a post about grattitude and the unsettling realisation that for many things are much worse off in other places, just being thankfull for all we have in our country and feeling sorry and sense of sadness for those who dont have all the big and little good things that we are lucky to have,

Hey @LostAngel. I can absolutely relate to your post and where your thoughts and feelings are at at the moment. It can be so overwhelming sometimes absorbing the external things that are happening in the world.

Myself, I have had turned the notifications off from the news on my phone to have a little reprieve.

Sending you solidarity and it was a nice reminder to be grateful for the things we have and can control.

💙

Hi @LostAngel

Thank you so much for sharing how grateful you are in living in this fine country of ours.

I m Australian but with migrant parents and sometimes listening to my cousins/ aunty stories about how they are suffering. My parents always taught us to be grateful that we live in this country. I can see the difference in life experiences between myself and my cousins. My parents took us back to the country they were originated from and that was an eye opener.

From your post I am going to remind myself to be grateful for what I have. I have lost that thought of thinking and have been missing something from my life.

I am too grateful in having a bed and a home, able to be free and independent.

Thank you again xxx
