I feel so broken!!

I feel so broken!!

Hello, I'm new here..

I feel like I have exhausted all of my friends and family with my problems, so I thought I'd unload here.

I have been battling severe depression for years and for the first time I decided 6 weeks ago I had enough. I didn't do it properly and I was admitted to a mental health assessment for a week.
While I'm there I was diagnosed with BPD, ADHD & an Eating Disorder.
now as I try to get my life back in order, taking my meds regularly, returned back to work (only 2 days at this stage) I can't help but wish I had done it properly. I'm afraid of the pain and scared but at the same time, I'm tired of feeling this way. I feel like a burden on my husband, my children, my family and my friends. I just want peace. I don't think I'll ever get better and if I do, how long will it be for? How long until I spiral again? I've been in the hospital twice since leaving the mental health section but they just send me home saying they can't help me anymore. I just feel like I need to be fixed!! I went in there from blacking out from lack of food and dizziness, but I feel like such a nuisance. I just want to be normal. I want to feel better. My heart aches. I don't know if I can go on like this!!

Re: I feel so broken!!

Hi @LostAngel @Hope1988 ,

Ive also found myself in a bit of a ditch the past few weeks. I haven't cried in a long time, but last night, I just cried....

Im waiting for a new day, new beginnings, but I can tell I'm slightly fragile at the moment.

@Hope1988 , I also have BPD. I've had it for many many years. I've been recovering and really on top of things. Then recently, I've had a change in meds for my anxiety and depression, and I think, i need it reassessed.

But it's okay. I know I can get through it. I've done it before and I know I can do it again.

BPD can be quite challenging at the best of times. It's such a slow moving illness and that's why hospitals don't like to keep BPD patients - they know there's little they can do in the short space of time they have.

Hold on @Hope1988 . There's hope. Take care of yourself and continue to reach out.

Thanks for your response!

I have called them before but all the lady in the other end said was that I needed to 'not be selfish and think of my children and husband'

that upset me heaps 😢 I don't want to hurt my babies and hubby. That's the last thing I want! But I'm just in so much pain!!

this disorder is cruel!! It's unfair 😭😭

Re: I feel so broken!!

@Hope1988 ,

I used to feel like I had 3rd degree burns to my emotional being. The pain was excruiciating. So, my dear, I understand your pain. I've been there. And when people tell you not to be selfish etc, it's like rubbing salt on the burn. It hurts. It hurts a lot! If only people could see the emotional self burning, they'd try to save you.

BPD is totally stigmatised and borderlines are discriminated.

Don't give up. After years and years of looking, and moving 2 states, I finally found the help I needed. It took one person to see the real me under all that hurt. They were by me the whole time. By one person's actions, I had the whole mental health community and services on my side.

It takes ONE.

It may seem impossible now, but when you've come out triumphant on the other side, who knows? You may be the ONE to pull another borderline out from the very depths of despair you are currently facing.

Im with you @Hope1988 .
