Something’s not right

It's happening again

It's happening again

Here I go again.
Brain is going a billion miles an hour. All I want to do is head to the gym to smash myself, and I can't because my three kids and I are home today.
Had a hectic weekend with my libido - won't go into specifics (sorry here for what feels already like tmi) but am exhausted with no mental relief. Just feel somewhat deflated, rejected, as though I am somehow just 'too much' to fit anywhere.
I had a restful Thursday, and that's what seems to have kickstarted the frenzied weekend that followed. Absolute hyperdriven libido all day Friday, tried to rest again Friday night and got a long nights sleep amazingly (7hrs solid sleep - unheard of!!!) and then Saturday kicked in all over again - huge physical energy, I cleaned, helped set up a new cafe in town, sang my arse off, ran and ran and ran, and then headed out for the night. Awake with friends over til 5am, singing all night, then awake again at 8am to sing at church (don't laugh at me here). I felt tired after, but instead of sleeping I went out and performed at an open mic session in the afternoon...
And this morning I am feeling what seems to actually be the beginnings of a 'downer' - my mood is all over the place, and I just want to hit the gym and listen to music 😞 head is pounding 😞

Why the hell am I working myself into this state all the time 😞 😞 😞

It sounds so trivial and I know there are ppl out there that have way more severe and unpleasant symptoms and breaks from reality etc... Sorry for the vent, this forum is new for me and I'm not sure if it helps to write or not. Have my first psych appt tomorrow, so even if I just refer to how I'm feeling now that may help.

Hi @PseudoPsycho

Thanks for sharing what you're going through. It sounds like life is really full on! you are so busy! i hope that the downer isnt too severe and that the headache is ok. Is there something you can do at home exercise wise that might help to calm those feelings? I do some exercise dvds sometimes andt he kids join in or laugh at me.. not the same intensity as the gym but... its something.

Well done on making an appointment with a psych. Thats a great step.. im always a bit (haha extremely) terrified and nervous of new appointments but they're usually ok and often helpful. I hope that you are able to get some good advice and support from your appointment.

Would love to hear how it goes,

take care

LJ

Re: It's happening again

Thanks for the reply.
The day was ok...
Despite my brain racing, it was all i could do for a while to focus and get dressed. i tried to force myself to have a rest because I knew id be teaching late tonight (just finished at 9.15pm) and ended up losing my shit at someone I cared about that had let me down over the weekend. I'd thought they understood me and took me at face value, straight up, but apparently not. Despite me being explicitly clear and direct about where I was at, and what it meant to be putting myself completely out there.
And honestly, I'm starting to despair that there is no one out there that understands what it's like to want the extremes, to be active, pushing forward like I do.
Appointment is tomorrow.
