Something’s not right

Taking a break from the site.

Taking a break from the site.

I know this sounds weird, since I haven't been very active recently, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

I won't be on here for a hot second, and I may or may not delete my profile after that.

Things have been tough recently.

My family basically won't let me leave the house while the case numbers are this high, even when I'm allowed to. I don't know if they're serious, but it sounds like I won't be going for walks or having coffee for an unknown period of time.

It's going to be really difficult to think of the end of this lockdown as a "freedom" moment. My life sucked before the lockdown too. Of course, it is a "freedom" moment and there are some things I'd like to do once the restrictions are eased, but I don't really have much to celebrate.

This site has been really good to me, but I feel like, especially recently, I am having trouble relating to a lot of people.

I can't reply to people who talk about how much they've been fighting, because the reality is, I HAVEN'T been fighting. I feel a bit out of place in that regard.

I also feel like it's impossible for people to know what I'M going through, because of my unique circumstances.

Of course, no-one is going to know exactly how you're feeling, but with this, I really think that people are just not going to be able to help.

To give you a tiny slice of what I mean, I can't really date online, because I look much older than I actually am. I have literally had grey hair since I was ten years old. I've been told that it's my voice that gives my age away.

Good luck trying to advise me on that. I would bet that VERY few people will know what that's like.

I'll probably come back when I'm stronger, but I am just really tired.

Thank you, guys, for listening and for trying to help.

Re: Taking a break from the site.

Hi @BPDSurvivor, thanks so much for the lovely welcome. I hope that the transition back to work was not too jolting. It's such strange times isn't it. Interesting to hear about the mental health fitness training. I'd love to learn a little more about that. I'm in Tasmania so not sure if that sort of thing is available down here. Take care and nice to meet you. Cheers!

Re: Taking a break from the site.

Thanks @Oaktree for the welcome and for the advice about how to use the forums. It's all a bit confusing at first, but so far everyone has been so kind and helpful... we need a bit more of that in the world. I hope you're well too - I can feel my mood improving and life seems a little easier. Cheers Sky4 🙂
