Last year at this time I made 2 quiet mentions of this in a choir. i) by email ii) by voice
I was happy to let it go but just wanted to gently test the water.
A few members work in the MH field .. my other small mentions of a couple of experiences lead to me being bullied white anted and pushed out of choir .. stigma is still full on ... it was so unjust but I no longer feel upset about it ... I feel quiet determination that the situation is not closed yet. It is still getting processed by choir. Yesterday I received a supportive and conciliatory email from a new conductor who joined after the bulllying began. He was a Godsend and we got on and he promised me a collaborative approach when we cross paths in the future in other organisations .. which is looking likely.
however the problematic people .. have not even tried ... so I did respond and upped the ante .. which is why he sent the email .. 20-30 years ago I would have withdrawn and hid in the bushes .. now I have too many barnacles on me ... (thanks @TAB)
to retreat without a strong stand ..
A year ago it had me asking for my first lot of tranquilisers ...
before then .. I had almost completely come off anti dep ... on low low dose for 3 years .. ... but i guess I was still not able to pick and choose my confidants .. and 'sensitive' topics were too hot.
Thank you @mrkotter for posting this ... I know it does not help everyone .. but it may help a few.
