Topic Tuesday // Self Care for Carers // Tues 20th July, 7:00-8:30PM AEST

Hi there SANE Community,

We are very excited to announce that our next Topic Tuesday will be featuring the amazing @Shaz51 talking about self care for carers! Many of you will know @Shaz51 and her passion for carer wellbeing 🙂

Self care

Self care is a term that we speak about on the forums, so what does it mean? Self care is the activities that you do each day that promote your emotional, physical and social health.

Every person's self care will look different- it's as unique as we are. For carers, self care is an important part of maintaining wellbeing and preventing burnout. Often on the forums we hear about compassion fatigue, and the impact on wellbeing that can happen when we don't take time for ourselves.

This discussion will explore burnout and the role of self care in promoting wellbeing as a carer.

Please join us here on Tuesday the 20th of July 2021 from 7:00pm-8:30pm AEST to follow this conversation.

@TideisTurning thank you for the email but yeah I'm okay. Guess I got a bit triggered talking about my home situation.

My apologies to everyone if I caused concern or upset. I wasn't expecting to overshare tonight.

Thank you all for tonight. Once my brain is able, I'll re read through and take on board all the awesome suggestions.

And as someone who has chronic MI issues I just want to say thank you to all of you on behalf of your loved ones. You are all incredibly amazing, strong and loving human beings. xx

It's ok @bipolarbunny. These things happen, triggers pop up unexpectedly and surprise us! Please know that's more than ok.

Take good care of yourself & please don't hesitate to reach out if what you're experiencing starts to feel too overwhelming 😊💙
