Share a cuppa?

I've just made myself a cuppa and would love a friend if anyone is around?

Re: Share a cuppa?

Yeah, there's a leak @ArraDreaming ... actually, the roofing person came and said we should be getting more leaks but thinks the insulation is absorbing it. So it was a pretty good downpour this arvo and the dining area was leaking. The previous owners were builders and pretty much did a lot of patch work.

So the new roofing requires decomissioning of the solar panels (so I'm getting new ones to replace them instead), lifting the roof on an angle, then changing from tiles to colourbond. It's a massive job.

Plus, I have a forest growing from my gutters, but no one can really reach the upstairs forest to remove it.

I've got another roof person coming to give a quote. It will definitely happen soon, but I'm going to see how I can organise finances.... .people don't normally have $40k lying around for free spending, especially just having having purchased a property lol @ArraDreaming May have to see what I can get a loan on.

I didnt know you just bought, that’s exciting (roof issue aside).

Re: Share a cuppa?

Well 'just bought' meant over a year ago lol @ArraDreaming . I knew about the roof issue from the beginning because I got a building inspection done. So when I moved in, a roofing guy just patched it up with silicone but said it would eventually need replacing... so with all this rain, yes, it needs replacing.

So I bought in July and moved in in Oct/Nov last year. So it's been over a year.

How fun @tyme shame about the roof but I guess most houses will need some work done at some stage, but that’s pretty major

we would love to buy a country block or something with lots of space, pipe dream though maybe…

Re: Share a cuppa?

I guess it's like a roof restoration/reno @ArraDreaming . At least it's not digging up the ground to fix plumbing. I know I guy who moved into a place and they need to dig up their entire front yard to dig out the tree roots growing into the pipes. It's been years, and they haven't had enough money to re-do the landscaping... now that's a huge job!

Have a country acrage would be awesome!
