Hearing you both @Former-Member @Paulette - so true. We can only hope and wait for the day when our children return.

Thanking you both @tyme and @Paulette for listening and caring. I feel deep shame. But all we can do is hope for their return in the future xxx

Re: Share a cuppa?

I remember members sharing the 'other side' of the story @Former-Member @Paulette . I'm sure there are a million and one reasons why children become estranged from parents etc.

I remember reading about the reasons why children disconnect from their parents. One member said it was because of their (children's) own guilt, and that's why they left their parents. But ultimately, when the time came, deep down they knew the truth and returned.

There's hope @Former-Member @Paulette

Hi @Former-Member ,

Please don't feel shame....I'm feeling mine but together we are stronger. Our children can always change. You're such a loving and kind woman. Above all strong. Thankyou for your kind and above all non judgemental words and thoughts. I can't leave the job I'm in but I can continue to be strong if nothing else. I don't have any qualifications but in future I want to study to be a counsellor and do Reiki courses. My heart's not in this work but my soul is in helping others. I hope everyone is ok tonight. I'm with you 💗 Maggie

Hi @tyme ,

Thankyou for your kind and wise words. I won't cry again right now but I'll thank you for thinking of @Former-Member and myself. It is my great hope my little ones 💖 can love me again.

Re: Share a cuppa?

Thanks @Paulette and @tyme everything ok with me. I find so much respect and meaning in your words and @tyme you're understanding of the other side of the fence you have presented tonight has been very insightful and useful.

Me @Paulette it's been quite liberating to share with you and I thank you for the opportunity.

I have qualifications as a social worker but am not working in my field ATM which is aged care as I'm in recovery and still suffering with depression. I work in retail part time for now and volunteer in a number of organisations.

I'm just getting over a bad case of Covid so just feeling a bit knocked around as well as hearing from people around me about my daughter, which is nice but quite 💓 breaking I'm not hearing first hand.

Hopefully we have a chance to stay in touch. Wishing you sweet dreams and escape through sleep. I'm off to bed with a hot water bottle after taking my meds xxxx

Re: Share a cuppa?

Goodnight @Former-Member ,

@tyme has so much support and wisdom for us all. It does pain me to here how much you are suffering with Covid. I had both vaccines plus one booster. I dislocated a rib coughing, it's healing but I only found rest good food and pain relief healed. Your daughter does love you sometimes I think daughters go through stuff. They pull away and then they are rushing to love you again. That's amazing you are a Social Worker. I will keep you in my thoughts and may you heal as you sleep, precious.

Re: Share a cuppa?

Oh no @Paulette - Ouch! Breaking a rib from coughing!

I ended up having 4 vaccines. After having COVID, i realised how vulnerable I was. It was a drowning sensation until i took antivirals.

Can I make you a warm drink tonight?

Re: Share a cuppa?

Tomorrow I have a rehearsal at my orchestra to go to, and then Wednesday I have another rehearsal at Collegium Musicum, we're doing Aaron Copland's "Old American Songs" and we're learning Morten Lauridsen's"
"Nocturnes". As far as people like that there'll always be people like that, there'll always have a serious addiction to bigotry, at least in this country, if not the world over. I've experienced people calling and abusing me 'coz they were convinced I was a sex offender, so trying to make my gender identity an issue, I mean I don't care what they identify as, but they obviously care more about me than I do about them. Anyway I'm cooking a really nice pepper chicken risotto, and washing it down with an oatmilk latte.
