Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

I love receiving letters, cards and postcodes.

Often received; if written by someone on holiday; days after that person has returned home.

Use this space however you like as though you are writing a letter to someone with whom you relate to in real life.

You might want to say something to that person, or persons and not be given the opportunity.

Families can be so very judgemental and cause much hurt and pain.

This is a way of writing to tell someone how you truly feel; good or bad.

Just read along if this is not your style.

Carry on with your own preference of using the forums.

This is just an idea.

Sometimes we do not know that we might enjoy something different unless we try.

Writing letters can be very therapeutic and a special way of releasing pent up feelings without the person knowing.

Lastly, in writing a letter, you need not put their name or title.

You might like to address the letter as dear friend, or dear family member; dear doctor; dear psychiatrist; dear pet.

Think outside of the square and write about what you would really like to say.

Good luck

Sophia

Hello @Oaktree

We haven't seen Eeyore for a while and thought he might be taking some time out for self care or very busy in his other life.

Lovely to know that you are still reading.

Be here in whatever way you want to be.

I have stopped tagging those who have not written on here for a while respecting yours and their space.

Let me know if you would like to be tagged or are just happy to read along still.

love Sophia 💛 some much needed sunshine needed here

Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

Sorry @Sophia1 that I haven't been much fun lately. I have been distracted with recommencing psychology sessions. I have had a lot of anxiety around that. Also I have been quite depressed. I am checking into a residential mental health place on the 20th.

@Oaktree

I am so very sorry. I did reply to your post here hours 😇 ago.
I was letting you know that you were still very much included and thought about. I then reached a stage where I thought that it was important to allow people space in case they needed time away. Perhaps struggling or pressures in real life. I was trying to show respect to yourself and a couple of others. My dry humour around annual leave was a way of including you (still a current team member). I was also trying to respond to a new Carer who is struggling with health issues and hospital with her son. A situation similar to mine. It took me two hours during which time my son rang and spoke non stop for an hour. I somehow obviously did not click post hence not here. I logged back on after dinner found you had not received my post. I also forgot about tonight grief subject which I wanted so much to join. I have so much grief from so long that just grows every time I lose someone else. Just not meant to be. Perhaps that is my epitaph. Take care xx

Hi @Sophia1 @Oaktree Yes I miss Eeyore too.

All the best for your Time in the residential place.

Horace is feeling very under-confident with eating - Scared to chew anything hard, in case he breaks another tooth.

Last night's major tooth breakage (a shock) - Turned out to be 2 broken teeth, at emergency Dental Appointment today.

So going back next week to get 2nd tooth filled.

Appointment overwhelm, with 2 Appointments every day this week - most of them no fun.

Still Delivering Letters through - In about one week's time, I really will be...

Census Forms, Delivery & Pick-up - As Census Field Officer, for 6 week Temp job.

Lots of Data Entry too, & lots of driving....

Christopher Robin was told quite firmly by his mum that in future he must practise his drumming outside in the backgarden behind the shed.

His mum was very concerned that her neighbour might complain about all of the noise coming from their home.

Their neighbour was not a very happy person and only spoke when criticising or complaining about Christopher Robin and his mum.

Hence Christopher's mum had anxiety.

Christopher loved his mum deeply and did not want to upset her anymore or cause her anxiety to increase, so he carried his ever so heavy drum outside. He actually manoeuvered the drum onto a large towel and dragged it across the floor; through the back door and behind the shed.

He then went back to fetch his stool.

Once seated comfortably he started to practice his piece of music that he would be drumming along to with his merry troupe of friends.

One of the singers had found an italian piece of music in an op shop and all musical performers were given a copy to practise with.

He thought that it would be much easier and more fun if they all practised together but reality did not allow this.

Bang, bang, bang, crash as he hit the cymbals. Drum kits usually incorporate at least a crash, ride or crash/ride, and a pair of hi-hat cymbals. He found this on Hello google.

The unfriendly neighbour poked his head over the fence and shouted (If you are going to play that infernal instrument, at least play it properly) His head then disappeared.

Ten minutes later Mr unfriendly neighbour appeared behind the shed and firmly said, "move over and I will show you how to play properly.) Christopher felt somewhat intimidated at the same time indignant. Everyone has to start learning from the beginning at some stage he thought.

So they took it in turns and Christopher felt his face break into a smile as he glowed with pride. He could now play some lines of his music sheet.

Wait until my friends hear this he thought.........

Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

Hello @Sophia1

You story about the grumpy (but may be just lonely) neighbour is lovely. That's the sort of story that I like.

I think that @bipolarbunny has one of her art forms in poetry, and one that appears to me for you seems to be in story development and telling.

Having mentioned that my 'inner child' was not terribly well formed (should I say "was terribly formed"?), I am becoming aware of other aspects and 'skills' that are still available for me to develop. A lot of that development has come through my activity on the forum as well as other resources which I have sought and to which I have access.

In conjunction with my activity on the forum, counselling discussions, and other activities that I have been involved with more recently, I am building a better life, compared to what I have often experienced previously. As we often hear said, it is a case of two steps forward, one back, ...... etc. This movement is progress for me. I see my future as a continuing state of development, with a lot of hills and valleys, each of which has their own characteristics, some fulfilling, rewarding and pleasant, and others demanding, gruelling and sometimes very unpleasant.

I am learning to enjoy the pleasant experiences and draw from them as much as I possibly can. The best I can do with the unpleasant and negative aspects, is to learn from them what I can, to accept what might appear meaningless ..... and to look upward with a sense of positive expectation.

Thank you for your part in my experience which, I am aware, was challenging initially. But I am so pleased that you were prepared to look a little deeper, to assess whether first impressions would be confirmed or there was something more to be considered.

With my appreciation and

Very Best Wishes

@HenryX

Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

Dear friends

Been away awhile. Winter blues got me. So just checking in and saying hi.

Nice to see the gang still pottering along.

So interesting these free form creative stories. You never know where they'll lead.

I have just been going through the previous threads and things have certainly morphed. Not surprised by the feasting and lots of chocolate cake. I thought Sooty could be a bit out there, but the pooh gang and karaoke. Blew my little mind. Sooty probably wont tag along as more than likely he'd end up at an AC/DC concert. Besides Sooty the Black Cat can't sing or dance. Like truly. I think I was dropped on my head when I was born, damaging my vocal cords, my ears, and somehow I also ended up with two left feet. 😜

Flax news:

What I have I been up to... wading through the usual NDIS nightmare of service providers promising a lot and not delivering. However, after weeks of messing about, things look like they could be sorted.😊

The weather in Hobart is finally turning - spring only a month away.👍 I think we're very lucky with COVID, so feel for the people stuck in endless lock downs. Taswegians have been surprisingly pretty good following govt rules.

Sooty news:

What has Sooty been up to... In brief, he and Geoffrey Rush went on an adventure to Bunnings, but never made it, because the honey jar was left in the sun - it fermented into mead. Sooty still has a hangover and the beetle, Geoffrey Rush, got lost in a beehive. Sooty also went to meet Odin one day. As usual, Sooty was easily diverted from his original plan and instead met Brunhildyr, a valkyrie who lives in a hidden cave at the bottom of the secret garden. Just as well Sooty is bilingual and could speak Norse.

Now that XXXL camouflage blanket has possibilities. Interesting thought, Sooty goes Rambo with a bubble gun. I can see Sooty, scrunched up under the camo blanket and taking bubble shots at everyone, until Tigger takes the toy gun away. Sooty can be so naughty. A story for another day.

Wasn't sure who to tag, as I know my little stories aren't quite children's book stuff. I often feel like a pair of jack boots marching into pooh's world. But its so nice to see you guys still doing your thing.

As much as I like head banging...chelloes are my thing. I think Sooty might bolt under a paino/harpsicord lid, use his sharp little claws to cut a string, just becuase he's naughty and pianos really annoy him.

Hope your all tavelling well. It really is good to see this thread still going.
