your an ADULT now /figuring out yourself/Adult Journey

hello forum friends sorry for the vague Subject line but its all about Adulthood 1 at the momment having fogure out financial and practical issues whilst also still on a very personal self growth Journey and last night was about me reaching out emotionally as an adult for support from family and keeping on reaching out for emotional support because I need it hope that doesnt sound selfish but this week Im starting to really try to allow myself to be vulnrable emotionally with family and with special someone but at the same time it is exhausting being an adult sheesh, today there was a buisness meeting as sorts to sort out some financial issues so tonight is pizza night,is exhausting being determined to get things done, but its worth it,as for being an adult and self growth it seems to be happening for me in all areas not just relationship wise ,geuss I should be thankfull and positive but it does take effort it takes so much emotional and physical work to be an adult and deal with all these adult things, honestly cant do any of this stuff alone, special someone is there and Im letting him be there Im chooseing to go against the part of me thats always focussed on the negative side of things and Im trying to push myself to be vulnrable to let people in,to make nessaserry adult choices, and other personal adult choices that I want to make for myself but yeah its tireing but Ill get there some day but definetly not alone, special someone has put in time and effort, care and consideration into our relationship and hes keeping his word to me so Im striving now to do the same for myself individually and for him in our relationship even though I dont quite know what to call our relationship yet we already seem to be heading the exclusive route after only a month or so of dating,I didnt imagine Id find a man thats so committed and mind you hes been very challenged by me along the way too but hes still here and I geuss what Im saying is that he has also made me want to improove myself as an individual person to strive forwards and think in the now,now its time for pizza and I need some rest ,being an adult is tireing

Hi @LostAngel

Its good to hear you are getting out here and being vunreble. probably the one thing i took from your post is the mentions about being exhausted and adulting is tiring..

What do you mean by that? Can you draw down and explain what this feels like to you?

emotionally exhausting, pysically exhausting though there are benefits to self growth the process of self growth though in terms of pushing your boundaries is at times difficult and tireing at the same time hope that makes sense, like theres lots of things happening at once some good and some not so good but trying and keep trying to perservere through everything

Hello @LostAngel

I think that I might understand your describing the reality of how tiring being an adult is.

For many who have had so much time spent in self discovery and coming to terms with reality, learning more about themselves constantly, there is so much energy used. Each new discovery, experience, even question comes with so many mixed feelings from past and the now.

Taking the journey and learning to trust someone new in your life is a very courageous act.

Please remember to give yourself credit for every single second.

I know how hard it is to be kind and gentle with myself. I understand as much as I can as this is your experience.

I have always said to my sons become good friends before entering a relationship. I know that one has listened.

Good luck on your new path

Sophia
