Something’s not right

Night Time

Night Time

That scene in Back to the Future 2 where Marty senior is watching TV but he has like 10 different stations playing all at once--that is my brain right now.

Don't even know what I'm thinking any more, it's just a static mess. So many thoughts and memories playing all at once it's confusing and frustrating.

Keep waking up in the early hours of the night thinking and hoping it's almost time to get up. But it never is. Knowing I'll be whiling away the next few hours like this feels like torture. But then when morning comes it's a battle to get out of bed.

I don't like to use the term flashback, I'm not a label person. I always feel like if I use those terms it takes away from others who have more severe problems. I can read about what it is to have a flashback for someone with CPTSD and I can check all the boxes, and inside I guess I know, but I still feel guilt. Like I'm not entitled to those terms. I guess maybe because it was drilled into my head that I was at fault. Maybe that's why I find it hard to use those terms? Because it places blame/responsibility onto someone else? Never even mentioned CPTSD on here before for the above reasons. Only ever been able to refer to my condition as PTSD.

I think, yeah, I guess it was flashback kind of material last week. It was very intense. When the physical component of it strikes it makes it so much harder to deal with. I still have this lingering nausea from it. If I even start to think about it my head starts pounding. Intensity of it has eased up greatly now though. Enough that I can start distancing myself from it all. I had absolutely no control over my thoughts or memories when that kicked in. Just kept ticking over, playing through, again and again. But it's confusing. I consciously have been aware of that instance where my mother was belting my brother. It's not a new memory. But after talking to my brother about all that other stuff, when that memory came up for me this time it came with a boat load of intense feelings. Like in my head I was there again. And I felt all the terror, the desperation, the overwhelming sadness, like I was there. Like I was still sitting on my bed and crying my little eyes out. It's up there with one of my most painful memories, but it's not at the top of the list. But I don't think I've ever experienced a flash back quite this intense before. That's also confusing. You'd think the severity of symptoms would directly relate to the severity of the traumatic memory. Perhaps I haven't been able to process the other events as completely as this one. So maybe it's a good thing? Good isn't the right word. Progress? I don't know. Gritting my teeth as I write this. Poor teeth. Woke up because I do this crazy thing with my jaw sometimes and it knocks my teeth together pretty hard. Two chipped teeth and another with a fracture because of it. Still won't go back to the dentist though.

Well, that was a long ramble. I feel a little lighter after prattling on though. Maybe that's what I need to do to get through the nights right now. Rather than tossing and turning for hours, maybe I'll just pour it out here. Maybe will start a new thread for it though. Maybe should just copy and paste this into a new thread now. OK.

Re: Night Time

You're a wonderful, loving and caring mother @Anastasia people aren't always going to do right by your boy but he'll always have you in his corner and that is everything.

@saltandpepper

Thank you sweetheart. No he can't not have the med. Its been a game changer. That's not an option.

One place I called today after they checked with team said no sorry can't take him on were just here for emergencies! So I thought cool if I can't find someone then we'll rock up there!!! Its such a floored system where a dr can prescribe something as an inpatient but not follow though with providing a means of having it after discharge!!! Yes I won't let this one go. Just have to wait. My boy said he'll have his appointment in the 21st see what comes of it and then probably go back to old pdoc. Only reason why he stopped seeing him was to change hospitals.

Apparently he's been thinking might change and could hear conversation with secretary and when I hung up his words "what a C*nt" (sorry Em)

Every time my boy has asked him to call me from hospital to include me in the appointment pdoc says "why? You're an adult, don't need your Mum involved"

wtf!!!! Way to go dr!! I'm just grateful my boy wants to include me and respects me enough to allow me to listen. I always allow him to make the decisions but I appreciate being included to ask questions and understand. Pdoc doesn't like that.

He makes my bl00d boil.

Yes if boys visit their father (it's four hours away) I will definitely see my friend she pretty much lives in same place as him. I miss her dreadfully and she is the sister I could have only dreamt to have. Reminds me of you actually @Emelia8 🌹

I think too my heart is broken at the moment. I'm so sad. My boss finishes Friday and with covid no opportunity to say goodbye, hug him, nothing. I'm not liking the interactions with the other manager/s and my headspace is not good around the situation. My work has been my escape. The only thing that kept me focused beyond my boy. That's gone now. The Rose coloured glasses are off. I feel like a big piece of what I had to look forward to is no longer. I love my boy but I need something good to take my mind of him and my miserable existence and it was work.

That's pretty much it...

Tell me about you guys x

Re: Night Time

Aw @Anastasia I'm so sorry. I know you didn't want to worry with centrelink and that. But maybe throwing in the towel with the job is something to consider? If it's changing there and it's not going to bring you that positive element and the distraction you need, maybe it's time to let go? Whatever you decide please remember this is all temporary. You will have your own things to focus on again, you will find something to add to your life that doesn't revolve around your boy. It will happen. You will have your escape again.

I'm sorry you're not able to send off your boss the way you'd like to. Perhaps when things ease up you can meet him for a coffee? Will you stay in touch? Maybe a fortnightly catch up with him on the books would be good for sanity? If possible?

Yeah I really can't wrap my head around that @Anastasia it makes zero sense. It can't be legal. Sue the c***. At least you have found the "emergency" pace to go to if you get desperate. That's good. So no matter what happens That's in your back pocket.

Is this the current pdoc or the previous one that doesn't like including you in things? Either way, does it ever stop your son from having you there? Has it ever affected your son's judgement? If he wants you (or anyone) there he has that right. And I can only see it as being beneficial to him. Sure, let's say he doesn't "need" mum there (which given his history of poop decision making I'd say he probs does need mum there) he wants you there. Having your support and having another set of ears to absorb all the info and everything, that's important. So no matter what any pdoc ever tries to say, your being there is what he wants and it only serves to benefit your boy. Neither you nor he should have to defend that choice to anyone. And if I was that fu*king doctor I'd be relieved and happy to know my patient had someone in his corner. Someone who is looking out for him. You'd think that'd be a comfort to the ol pdoc eh?

Also, I laughed at your son's assessment of the phone call with the receptionist. What an astute observation he made haha

I'm so glad you're thinking of a weekend away. If she's like @Emelia8 then you'll be in good company 🙂💙

Re: Night Time

Thank you for your friendship @saltandpepper I'm really very lucky to have found you. You are very special to me.

Hospital emergency is also an option if I can't find somewhere.

Its his current pdoc. His last one was a gem. The hospital he works at was not a good environment for where my boy was at. I had to find an alternative and couldn't take the dr with him. He was always happy to include me in the appointments. His view was like mine "it takes an army" my boy was very unstable back then and his Dr gave me his phone number to contact him 24/7. I never abused the privilege and only ever texted around med side effects when worried. My boy is extremely sensitive to amy tweak. Hence all of the hospital admissions. I'd be happy for him to go back to him.

Can't do Centrelink @saltandpepper I already max my credit card out each month and my pay is ok. Medical costs and rent etc is huge. Both my boys still at home and I support my boy 100% so clink wouldn't cover outgoings. Gosh just health insurance alone. Stuck working which is why I need to dig really really deep just to suck it up and keep going. At least whilst I sort out this issue for my boy.

Once that's sorted then maybe I can reassess the situation and make the change if necessary.

@Emelia8

Please tell me about YOU both 👂👀🙏💙

@Emelia8 did I upset you?

Re: Night Time

Yeah I hear that @Anastasia but would centrelink also allow you guys to access cheaper health care and what not? What about the dad, where's his wallet? Does he help out with expenses for your boys? What if you sue that doctor, there's some cash to be made there I'm sure of it.

Ah good good so is your son wanting to go back to this pdoc or find a new one altogether? Why can't you just take the doctor with you, he doesn't need to see other patients, that's just rude.

Yep that's good so you've got two back up options for son's meds; that's excellent. So while it may not be ideal, if things can't get sorted in a hurry he will at least be able to get his medication. That gives you breathing room to try and hunt down another clinic. There's time for a breath. Take a breath. Have a cuppa tea. Take 5.

Not much to report here @Anastasia sorry. I didn't have a great night last night and still sitting with a lot of things from that. Have very much been looking forward to catching you on here tonight. I like getting to talk to you. I hate to say it @Anastasia but I'm a bit buggered here. I may need to turn in soon I'm sorry

I feel the same @saltandpepper

I'm sorry I haven't been here for you as much as I would like. Hence wanting to share with you what's going on. Go get some sleep gorgeous. Doze off to CB. I will too. We share the same moon so I'll drift off thinking of a brighter day for both of us tomorrow and @Emelia8 too although I think she's already dozed off 😄

Night my precious friend, I love you lots x
