Something’s not right

Night Time

Night Time

That scene in Back to the Future 2 where Marty senior is watching TV but he has like 10 different stations playing all at once--that is my brain right now.

Don't even know what I'm thinking any more, it's just a static mess. So many thoughts and memories playing all at once it's confusing and frustrating.

Keep waking up in the early hours of the night thinking and hoping it's almost time to get up. But it never is. Knowing I'll be whiling away the next few hours like this feels like torture. But then when morning comes it's a battle to get out of bed.

I don't like to use the term flashback, I'm not a label person. I always feel like if I use those terms it takes away from others who have more severe problems. I can read about what it is to have a flashback for someone with CPTSD and I can check all the boxes, and inside I guess I know, but I still feel guilt. Like I'm not entitled to those terms. I guess maybe because it was drilled into my head that I was at fault. Maybe that's why I find it hard to use those terms? Because it places blame/responsibility onto someone else? Never even mentioned CPTSD on here before for the above reasons. Only ever been able to refer to my condition as PTSD.

I think, yeah, I guess it was flashback kind of material last week. It was very intense. When the physical component of it strikes it makes it so much harder to deal with. I still have this lingering nausea from it. If I even start to think about it my head starts pounding. Intensity of it has eased up greatly now though. Enough that I can start distancing myself from it all. I had absolutely no control over my thoughts or memories when that kicked in. Just kept ticking over, playing through, again and again. But it's confusing. I consciously have been aware of that instance where my mother was belting my brother. It's not a new memory. But after talking to my brother about all that other stuff, when that memory came up for me this time it came with a boat load of intense feelings. Like in my head I was there again. And I felt all the terror, the desperation, the overwhelming sadness, like I was there. Like I was still sitting on my bed and crying my little eyes out. It's up there with one of my most painful memories, but it's not at the top of the list. But I don't think I've ever experienced a flash back quite this intense before. That's also confusing. You'd think the severity of symptoms would directly relate to the severity of the traumatic memory. Perhaps I haven't been able to process the other events as completely as this one. So maybe it's a good thing? Good isn't the right word. Progress? I don't know. Gritting my teeth as I write this. Poor teeth. Woke up because I do this crazy thing with my jaw sometimes and it knocks my teeth together pretty hard. Two chipped teeth and another with a fracture because of it. Still won't go back to the dentist though.

Well, that was a long ramble. I feel a little lighter after prattling on though. Maybe that's what I need to do to get through the nights right now. Rather than tossing and turning for hours, maybe I'll just pour it out here. Maybe will start a new thread for it though. Maybe should just copy and paste this into a new thread now. OK.

@saltandpepper

You know what legacy you leave when you suicide S&P? More than likely your kid follows you and does the same thing. Do you want that? You need to fight no matter how shit and how worthless you think you are. Don't leave

Re: Night Time

Aw haha @Anastasia love that, makes me feel happy to know they're hanging out playing games together. Glad they can do that.

Likewise @Anastasia and I'm always here for you, no matter what.

Facemasks ay? You know I haven't actually had to do the whole facemask thing being here in Tassie. Weird huh? Also, why would you go into work when you're working from home. That makes zero sense.

I'm sorry things sound shitty at work. Can you leave with your boss? Is that an option? I've no doubt he'll miss you too.

Dinner sounds yum. The boys going to do dinner for ya one night this week? I think they should. Aw man washing the floor, I need to do that. I accidentally dropped my drink the other night and it was full so made a right mess. Wiped it up best I could but next day felt like walking into a night club haha all sticky. Really need to do something about that. Probably not going to though, that's terrible isn't it? Worst housekeeping skills ever.

Not lame at all @Anastasia I like hearing about your day, thanks for sharing it with me 🙂

Re: Night Time

Hey @saltandpepper I DO hear you.

Would it help if I told you I've done things I'm ashamed of. In fact everyone has. We are human. Far out you probably wouldn't talk to ME!! The thing is that is you past. Not your present. Not now. Not the current YOU.

I know you're thinking "but what I did was worse that what you did", again I hear you but please forgive yourself. I have. I'm still here. Not going anywhere either.

So did you like my pictures haha, I like pictures. 🤗☺️😜💕

Re: Night Time

No apology necessary. Yes this is the dilemma I'm facing @Oaktree and it's also why I've been thinking it's better to do it sooner rather than later. Because truthfully, I've always thought this would be the way I'd go. It's never really been a question of if, more when.

Ideally, yes, living is the goal. Being alive=no trauma for my child. But on the other side of that if I never get my shit together and keep getting fu*ked up and it just gets worse and worse, then that's going to scar him too. I hear you though @Oaktree and I know it's not the right choice. I'm just not sure if it would cause less damage than having me around. And I mean that in the most objective way possible.

Re: Night Time

Had to take milk and cleaning supplies in and do some printing. Did it after hours coz of covid @saltandpepper

Told my boss to call me if something comes up where he goes. He's got nowhere to go as yet. They :pile_of_poo: all over him 😔

I should suggest that they cookonce a week, good idea! They used to but it was short lived :face_with_rolling_eyes:

My floor was sooooo grotty. It still needs another wash but it will do for now. Haha nightclub floor, that brings back memories!

Could be worse could be 🤮😜🤣

@saltandpepper

I hear you and I understand what you mean because I think that will be my ending too. It's not for you to try to work out when it will be best to leave him. You need to try to work out how to stay day by day. Minute by minute or second by second. Whichever of those time frames works best for you x

Re: Night Time

@Anastasia Yeah loved waiting the 15 minutes or so for the pic to get approved haha talk about torture haha

well yeah @Anastasia of course everyone makes mistakes and does shit they're not proud of. But it's different. And it's different because I fu*king followed right in those footsteps. And I didn't even fu*king see it. I turned into the person I hated. That's created this inner conflict. I hate the way my mother treated me/my brother/my father, so how do I live knowing I turned into her? I know I know it was survival at the time. If I didn't get angry and aggressive I wouldn't have been able to protect myself. I know all the reasons why I turned out the way I did, but it doesn't change anything for me. To think I was like that too. I hate myself for it. So much. I don't think I deserve happiness. I think I must deserve to feel as shit as I do and I should have to struggle to get through the day. I don't know @Anastasia it's too much. I can't think on it anymore. I'm digging a hole for myself here. It's such a mess in my head. Theresyjust too much to overcome. Too many wounds. Too many battles. It's too much.

Lets go back to talking about your day, that made me feel happy. What's on for the rest of the week?
