Something’s not right

Night Time

Night Time

That scene in Back to the Future 2 where Marty senior is watching TV but he has like 10 different stations playing all at once--that is my brain right now.

Don't even know what I'm thinking any more, it's just a static mess. So many thoughts and memories playing all at once it's confusing and frustrating.

Keep waking up in the early hours of the night thinking and hoping it's almost time to get up. But it never is. Knowing I'll be whiling away the next few hours like this feels like torture. But then when morning comes it's a battle to get out of bed.

I don't like to use the term flashback, I'm not a label person. I always feel like if I use those terms it takes away from others who have more severe problems. I can read about what it is to have a flashback for someone with CPTSD and I can check all the boxes, and inside I guess I know, but I still feel guilt. Like I'm not entitled to those terms. I guess maybe because it was drilled into my head that I was at fault. Maybe that's why I find it hard to use those terms? Because it places blame/responsibility onto someone else? Never even mentioned CPTSD on here before for the above reasons. Only ever been able to refer to my condition as PTSD.

I think, yeah, I guess it was flashback kind of material last week. It was very intense. When the physical component of it strikes it makes it so much harder to deal with. I still have this lingering nausea from it. If I even start to think about it my head starts pounding. Intensity of it has eased up greatly now though. Enough that I can start distancing myself from it all. I had absolutely no control over my thoughts or memories when that kicked in. Just kept ticking over, playing through, again and again. But it's confusing. I consciously have been aware of that instance where my mother was belting my brother. It's not a new memory. But after talking to my brother about all that other stuff, when that memory came up for me this time it came with a boat load of intense feelings. Like in my head I was there again. And I felt all the terror, the desperation, the overwhelming sadness, like I was there. Like I was still sitting on my bed and crying my little eyes out. It's up there with one of my most painful memories, but it's not at the top of the list. But I don't think I've ever experienced a flash back quite this intense before. That's also confusing. You'd think the severity of symptoms would directly relate to the severity of the traumatic memory. Perhaps I haven't been able to process the other events as completely as this one. So maybe it's a good thing? Good isn't the right word. Progress? I don't know. Gritting my teeth as I write this. Poor teeth. Woke up because I do this crazy thing with my jaw sometimes and it knocks my teeth together pretty hard. Two chipped teeth and another with a fracture because of it. Still won't go back to the dentist though.

Well, that was a long ramble. I feel a little lighter after prattling on though. Maybe that's what I need to do to get through the nights right now. Rather than tossing and turning for hours, maybe I'll just pour it out here. Maybe will start a new thread for it though. Maybe should just copy and paste this into a new thread now. OK.

Re: Night Time

Little bit sinking here, the handover with my boss leaving and having to share everything now with other managers is arduous. Was always just me and him.

So putting everything for the remainder of the year into a shared calendar and compiling info in SharePoint. Think they are scared I'm going somewhere too lol or maybe the know something I don't 🤣

Either way is :pile_of_poo:

Reminds me I'm valuable 😜

And locked down at present that's just :pile_of_poo::pile_of_poo::pile_of_poo:

Hbu? You ok?

Ah damn lock down again? That'd be shit. Know when it's menat to be lifted?

Ah bit shit here tbh. Might've done some dumb shit the other night. Unsuccessfully albeit. That's left me with mixed feelings. Feel bad even telling you @Anastasia Im drowning here. Really fu*king struggling to keep myself alive right now. Been going over it all today. Think i need more help than im getting. So will talk to psychologist etc and see what my options are when i see him

Re: Night Time

Oh @saltandpepper regardless of what happens in the future cause we can never know what that is I also want you to know that you have made such a difference in my life too. It's richer for knowing you and not a day goes by that you aren't in my thoughts. It would be selfish for me to say you have to stay because I need you in my life but I will remind you that whilst your days are very dark, light will follow. I promise you of that. I too have contemplated leaving. I'm glad I didn't.

Please when you are at your lowest look at the moon. I look at it all the time. Know that we share that same moon even though we are seperated. It might bring you some peace? Listen loud to Chester. I have been of late. It might help?

Lastly talk to me, I'm always in your heart, in your pocket, in your corner, cheering you on, reminding you how bl00dy awesome you are and that YOU make this world a better place just cause you're in it.

God please hear me S&P. 👂💪✔️💕🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕

Re: Night Time

I hear you @Anastasia im struggling to respond here. I just don't know what to say. Thank you for every word you have written here, it means more to me than you know.

I am so glad you are still here @Anastasia not just for me but for everyone else here and for your boys too. But mostly, because you are honestly just this golden person who deserves to live. I don't think anyone else has ever deserved that so much, you are the special one, one in a million.

I know at the bottom of it all I want to be alove for my son. Imagining what his life would look like without me here is too painful to bare. But I lose sight of it sometimes. I get trapped in my head and I keep going through all the things that make me want to give up. It's not helpful. It's my fault. If I just let go of the past and focused on my boy and his future.. But I can never do it. It's part of me. And it just hurts all the time. Everything is such a mess all the time in my head. And I look forward 10/20/30 years, and I don't see it being any different. And I feel weak, embarrassed to think like this. Because I should be stronger. I should be better. But I don't feel better. I'm just struggling so badly with everything right now and nothing is easing all this pain. I'm half tempted to get back in touch with some old mates so I can go backwards, get what I need to numb myself completely from all of this shit. But what good does that do? Yeah, I can find ways to numb the pain but at what cost? Staying alive but being incapable of living, is that benefiting anyone? Is that really better for my son? Sometimes I think the smart play is to end it before he gets any older. Because I don't see this getting any easier for me. I see it getting worse. I see me desperately clinging to anything that will help me through the day--alcohol/drugs--anything to numb it all, anything to quieten the noise. And my son doesn't deserve that either. Either it feels like a wrong choice. Like it's going to hurt him no matter what. My head is such a mess I don't know what I'm thinking anymore. I'm so tored of living this way. Living with all this shit that I can't fix or erase. And I feel like a failure that I've been in therapy for years and I'm still struggling like this. And I feel like my therapist thinks I'm ok, that I'm better, and it feels like he expects that of me by now. But is it in my head? I don't know. I've always been this half assed shadow of a person, I've never been anything other than this. I don't see it being any different for me. And the more I dwell on it the more it pulls me in. Just bein dragged into this blackhole and I know I'm not doing enough to fight it but I don't know that I want to either. Shit I'm sorry @Anastasia thats such a long rambly post, I'm sorry
