Topic Tuesday// Life With NDIS// Tues 22nd June, 7-:8:30PM AEST

Hi SANE Community,

Next fortnight, we will be welcoming Life Without Barriers to talk about all things NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme)!

NDIS

The NDIS stands for the National Disability Insurance Scheme, which is the major way supports for those living with disability are funded in Australia. This includes psychosocial disability, which can cover some living with complex mental health issues.

Life Without Barriers are a nation wide mental health and disability service provider, which means they provide services under NDIS. They will be joining us to lend some knowledge about NDIS and give an overview of some of the services they are able to provide.

Please join us here on Tuesday the 22nd June from 7-8:30PM AEST to follow the conversation and feel free to bring along your own questions also!

@Anastasia So there is hope? Putting in a review this week, sooooo stressful. I'm expecting to be denied and I'll be paying half my DSP in therapy each fortnight.

Yes definitely hope. Let me get the paperwork and I will tell you what category it falls under. His therapist wrote a support letter outlining his needs and how.manu hours each week he needs etc. That was submitted at the time the plan was. I highly recommend this as it adds depth to why you need it included. @bipolarbunny

hardly afford food, rego, hardly function, and all I get is . Have some confidence and drink some concrete.

after several attempts at I won't say, I still get laughed at every where I go, bullied and well harassed, miss gendered, ect. ....

@SandeeLWB Had a letter from both my clinical psychologist and my psychiatrist and NDIS's response was, it's not their job to prop up Medicare. I felt as though they accepted my mental illness as a disability but are not prepared to help me with it.
