Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Library

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Library

Hi everyone

I am an Arrernte man living on Wadawurrung country.
If you weren't aware, it is Reconciliation Week.

Let's use this space to share artwork music, stories, information from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander space.

I just want to start off with this song. You might know the classic by Paul Kelly, he is joined in this song by Indigenous artist Ziggy Ramo, one of my favourites.

Thank you so much @ArraDreaming for creating this thread, and thank you for taking some time to introduce yourself. I'm a settler who grew up on a number of different Countries but now reside on the land of the Cadigal people. It's nice to meet you 😊

I hadn't heard The Children Came Back before, that was beautiful- thank you for sharing it

Also, thank you @Shaz51 and @TideisTurning for tagging me!

I'd love to share this powerful and amazing song by Barkaa & Dobby.

Hi @ArraDreaming ,

Thank you for starting this thread and for sharing the video. I just had a listen to the song. The lyrics are so powerful and are what we all need to hear.

"From little things, big things grow"

I would like to reshare the artwork, which I had posted in the National Reconciliation week thread as I really love the colors and meaningful messages behind each element of it.

Hey @ArraDreaming

I found this song on triple j when they are doing their indigenous music day ( which I really enjoy as it the song are usually about something other than wealth or first world problems)

Do you get to visit county much or know much about your land and how your people used to live off it?
