I am Aires on Pisces cusp.
@LostAngel
My dad was a scorpio.
I found your post really interesting @Former-Member It resonated a lot with me. as I had the opposite problem that my mother, grandmother, and step daughter (oldest child) were all the same star sign as me. So there was not much difference in that regard. I settled for the fact that I was on a cusp and that seemed to matter a bit ... ie the watery side of me was big for me and my father, and it had the aspect of cooling the fire.
@Former-Member Astrology was a main topic of conversation among women when I was young teen. I only ever looked into it superficially and did not take it seriously. I think the big point is that there are many systems of discussing type in personality and culture ... eg the the year system in China .. Jungian types and all the popularised psychologies floating around.
For me that seemed important.... other ways than medical diagnoses and the DSM!
Also I came up against the problem of over quoting of the Golden Rule .. in Christianity ... love someone as you would like to be loved ... became treat someone ... as you would like to be treated ... it can be tricky and unhelpful when people are really different and the differences are not accounted for ....
I now think astrology can be a good way to open up conversations around difference, rather than the heated tone of debate that happens around intersectionality .... these days ... a way of acknowledging difference without piling on unresolved traumas or prejudices or ... cultural misunderstandings and different value systems. If it allows for civil discussion it can be a good.
