Thank you (and keep that self care happening)

Thank you (and keep that self care happening)

Now that Mr Darcy has passed and my caregiving role has come to an end and I have entered a different season of grief it is time for me to step aside from the forum.

I use the term "different season" as we know that as a caregiver we have "living grief". Living grief encompasses the losses we as carers have when our loved ones receive a life changing diagnosis and the losses can be huge. Some we rail against, others we accept . We pray that our loved will have healing or remission from their symptoms, especially the darker ones.

We experience a plethora of emotions, at times some of them new and uncomfortable. We feel scared, guilty, angry, frustrated and at times hopeless and helpless; at other times we feel love, hope, courage and determination. Getting comfortable to sit with our uncomfortable emotions and learning which ones require action on our behalf and which ones don't can be helpful.

Building resilience through self care with particular attention to the 8 dimensions of wellness is important and puts us in an optimal position to cope with the things life throws at us and I gently encourage you all to continue to do this.

Adequate sleep and gratitude are gifts that keeps on giving keep finding things to laugh about, but above all, love fiercely.

It has been a privilege getting to know you and I cannot thank you enough for the support you have so freely give and how this has helped me grow, Bless you all @Shaz51 @Faith-and-Hope @Determined @Smc @Sophie1 @Sophia1 @Former-Member @Appleblossom @Adge @Emelia8 @Bunniekins @outlander @Carlachris @SJT63 @Scoo @Jay-e @Boo13 @Anastasia @Maggie , from my early days @soul @PhoenixRising @Grasshopper3 and too many others to mention.

Thanks to the gardeners and the the declutterers, you hold a special place in my heart.

@Former-Member 😢 sorry for your loss, I didn't know. So hard 💜 I have enjoyed having you out here, you don't have to go you know. Grief is not an MI I know, but we're still here if it helps. Hope you have good supports irl. Thanks for all the support, especially 'declutter' & 'faith' threads. Big hugz 😭 sorry, I can't do goodbyes 🙏

Dear @Former-Member

Shocked and deeply saddened for your loss of Mr Darcy.

You are always a wealth of information and resources for others.

You have such a moving sense of wit and humour unmatched on here.

You are held deeply in the hearts of many forum members and staff as well.

You are taking a step back as part of self-care and boundary setting for yourself.

This I understand and have done myself.

There will always be a place for you perhaps on the other side of the wall even.

You will be remembered, not forgotten.

You have helped many.

Be gentle with your grief, as life continues always.

I know that you have friends and support in real life.

Continue to be you.

Bless you Darcy

💜

@Former-Member I am so sorry I have only seen this now 🥺 I just wanted to say my thoughts and prayers are with you especially at this time. I truly hope this message reaches you before you sign off.

You were one of the very first to welcome me here when I was in crisis and have been an amazing support to me and many others throughout tour own journey. Something I will always remember. Your strength focus and most importantly faith has been a comfort and encouragement to me that words cannot express.

I will be sad to see you go but fully understand the need for this next chapter and wish you all the best.
