Something’s not right

Rise up triumphant!

Rise up triumphant!

Hi all
On Friday I posted while having a panic attack. They are not something I am use to having/-goes against my self perception-of the cool, calm & collected person I love to portray. I cannot express the feeling of not being in control of my own reactions. Its so scary it lasts days and I can't sleep. I went to the doctor and they prescribed a sedative and we looked at the trigger points for me and why? So then it was a matter of dissecting and finding ways of avoiding or counteracting them, coupled with positive self talk & supports from family and friends. But I think the best thing is working out what things can help and creating a little tool box for myself. Now I know there things I can do way before it all kicks in I feel Empowered.

Hi @RG01, that's so lovely to hear. Thank you very much for posting this. You're absolutely right - having a tool box of skills and strategies will not just help when the panic descends but will also help you feel more in control at other times. It's a bit like a panic inoculation!

It would be great to hear more as you put together your tool box. This is an issue for so many members that I'm sure others will benefit from your positive attitude and the things that you learn
