@Former-Member

Hello Always-hope,

Thank you for your message. I'm making progress. After a diversion for documentation for repairs to the house and a few other issues, yesterday and today was a return to the fence that I had planned to get done some time back. I have been very fortunate to have been offered assistance by a friend. We have agreed that I would have had great difficulty attempting the job on my own. Possibly lack of success would have been far more likely.

I am certainly facing limitations, mainly physical at this stage.

On the other side, spoke with a counsellor today, which is my fifth visit. She and I have developed a good rapport and working relationship, for which I am very thankful. It is a long time since I have seriously faced quite a number of issues, and that is stretching the "psychological muscles" also.

I understand that you are dealing with a lot of turbulence at the present time. I both sympathise and empathise with you. It seems that a lot is happening within a fairly short time span.

It is difficult to convey the feelings of support that we have for each other on the forum, but they are offered with sincerity and we can receive that support with affection. I do hope that some pleasant events come your way soon.

With Best Wishes

HenryX

Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

Good Morning

@Anastasia @HenryX @bipolarbunny @Mazarita @Former-Member and all who are reading ...

@Shaz51 Like the others said, I agree it could be helpful if you do share some of your thoughts when with doc with Mr Shaz. It might give Mr shaz an "in" if he is unsure what or how to say something. Kind of like yes and ... yada yada. Sometimes it can feel like a big divide between docs and patients and starting to speak about one's own MH problems is not always easy. No harm in trying, if mr Shaz does not like it at least he will know what you are thinking and probably tell you even if it is on the way home in the car.

I learn so much indirectly, from all the sharing on the forum. For me I was silenced so much at first, I was only at MH places for others and their circs were so serious I would never dream to put my self in picture. Later as things unfolded and I started to have my own MH appointments, Once my talking mode was finally activated I could not stop. For a couple decades I was under so much pressure when I started to talk whole session, I did not have enough space to actually have proper interactions. Listening to all the back and forward on here gives me more models of how to make spaces in therapy. Kind of insight as to why it has not always been productive. Just too little and only enough to let off steam and not enough to ground enough to have good discourse.

Finnding the the spaces and making use of them will become a new focus as I finally know I have not fallen between the spaces in an invisible and dangerous way, so my fear about all that is receding.

My NDIS cleaner is here and was glad my son thanked her. Think it is the first time they met. This is new for me ... to feel seen and supported ... it is also good for my son to see it ... as it means less pressure on him.

Mostly I have not worried about utilising NDIS to full extent, mainly ensuring that things are stable as possible for him and for me. Yes I count too! I can have help for some things around house. We have settled on every 3 weeks. Not too much. Not too little. Yay!

Love to you all.

Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

Its lovely you are utilising them @Appleblossom - you do count too.

I think of us Mummas as the glue that holds our boys together, so we have to lookm after ourselves...not easy hey, but imperative 💙

You too, the glue @Shaz51 💙

Hello all 👏❣️

Re: Let`s talk about Bipolar

@Appleblossom @Anastasia @Shaz51 Yes you are all definitely glue and definitely need to practise self care often. You ladies amaze me, you really do. So much strength, love and compassion, I only wish I had someone like you all in my life, it would make things so much easier.

@Appleblossom I'm so glad you are finding your NDIS funding helpful. That's awesome that you are able to utilise it. I'm thinking of using mine to hire a gardener to do the heavy stuff like mowing and edging. My mum is the gardener in the house but she is getting less able to do things and I help her where I can, but I really find it a chore. And mowing screws with my back and shoulders as we live half way up a hill and the ground it so uneven. You have to twist and turn the mower around the many garden beds. Ugh gives me cold chills every time I have to do it.

I totally understand the once you started talking in counselling it opened the flood gates. I often have to remind myself especially when I'm manic, that I have to pause and let Jeff get a word in. It was funny last session, we were doing the NDIS report and I was feeling flat and not engaging much as I was trying to let him concentrate on the letter and I really didn't feel like talking. It was kinda awkward. I said to Jeff, "I'm not really chatty today am I?" And he replied, "No, you're kind of freaking me out!" Lol.

@Mazarita How did you sleep Maz? How are you feeling today?

@frog How are you doing Frog?

@HenryX I'm so happy for you that things are going well with your counseling sessions my friend. It makes all the difference in the world when you can build a good rapport with your therapist. I'm also glad you've got someone to help you with repairs to the house, that is awesome.

@Former-Member How are you feeling today hon?

My mum is doing a bit better today, it will be a few weeks till she is completely mobile again, but at least she is listening to the doctors orders and staying off her feet.

I'm still feeling a bit flat, but going to try and get a ride in on my bike indoors. It's still cold and wet outside and I don't feel like getting soaked through on a run.

Hope you all find a little warm & magic in your day, big hugs xx
