Hi Everyone
Been a while so a quick update.
Ive been happily stable and sober for a while now. Still got doctor visits regularly. But when I have my ups and downs, the first reaction is now around how this is going for just plain old me (not always jumping into a panic as every significant mood change “must” be bipolar related).
So instead I thought I’d celebrate what it’s started for me to be playing it as a generally healthy person with a solid history of mental health concerns. Of the bipolar variety.
- I have a decent bank balance (no irrational spending)
- I remember things more clearly (even noting memory is highly malleable)
- I have and meet goals (but am happy to revisit and reset)
- I’m less anxious (because I’m not assuming all the time people think I’m weird)
- I can take the time to look after and support those I care for
- I know where I use my time and am focussed
- I am confident in seeing and calling it when somethings wrong
So I think. Just quietly. As a person who happens to be bipolar. Maybe I can live a vibrant, happy life. My bipolar will never go away, but who says we’re not capable of just about anything?
