So much pain

So much pain

I'm in so much pain right now. My bladder/vagina area is so sore and yet my doctor says there is nothing wrong. Booked in to see a physio but not for another month. I've been like this for about 6 weeks already. My doctor says it's probably psychological. I just want it to stop.

Hi @Isabella1

Have you had your urine tested - it sounds very much to me like a bladder infection

If you have a burning sensation in your vagina it could be your urine carrying the infection there -

Or maybe it is you have thrush or maybe you have both

I would be seeing another doctor - preferably a female doctor who would be more likely to be more understanding

I can't imagine what your doctor is thinking saying that the problem is psycholgical -

Please find another doctor and keep in touch

Re: So much pain

Yes I've had urine tested and had a physical examination and everything looked fine. I trust my doctor. I have had this pain before and my physio hired me a tens machine which helped a lot, but this time it doesn't seem to be working (I bought a machine after the last bout of pain). I'm thinking it might be a tense pelvic floor (well hoping it's just that) as I've been under a lot of stress the last few years - that's why she thinks it's psychological.

Re: So much pain

Dear Isabella. There could be 100 reasons why you're in pain. I would be trying to get an appointment with a gynaecologist preferably female. To do that, you need a Dr's referral. Do you know if you are swollen in that area. You may have an internal infection or a bladder infection. If it was thrush, I think you'd be itchy, plus a discharge would be apparent. I strongly suggest you go back to your Dr, if necessary take a friend with you, if the Dr intimidates you (which he shouldn't). Are you feeling sick, light-headed etc. if it is a urinary tract, there are other symptoms. I would strongly advise against 'googling' your symptoms. See your Dr .

Re: So much pain

Hi @pip

That is excellent - I agree

@Isabella1

So you remember over-disentding your bladder at any time before all of this burning and pain started - that is easy to do sometimes - eg - women can often hold their urine longer than is good and it can cause pain and burning

But yes - you need to see a gynocologist or a urologist -

And pain is painful - and that might mean a few tests and if the doctor can't find a reason they might say it's psychological rather than give you pain medication - this can be a real problem

This must be horrible for you

Re: So much pain

Brother, MI stigma among health professionals is so unacceptable. Have you had ANY tests to RULE OUT PHYSICAL CAUSES? (Trans vaginal ultrasound, pap smear, swabs, MSU... ??? If not its negligent & your GP needs reported & put undet supervision. Please find a second opinion on this matter, a ref to a gynae would be good, its your right. Its too easy to write everything off as psychological without scientific proof !!! Wish I could clip some drs around at he ear. Sorry, comes out sideways sometimes 🙂

Re: So much pain

Yes I've had an ultra sound, physical exam and urine tests. I am prone to physical symptoms when I'm stressed.
