Need to vent - may be a trigger warning

Need to vent - may be a trigger warning

So when I was younger I was growing up around alcohol & drugs because of mums partner. I got very scared easy and now I have flashbacks of it all. Then when I started getting older other things happened which made me more scared of him.

Once I had everything under control it all started over again.

I was sexually abused 3 times which has really scared me to go out on my own and to actually have a boyfriend. I'm currently getting support for that.

I've been to hospital several times this year because of my MH giving in some days. But I'm still fighting. No point in giving up.

Came out of hospital with several diagnoses. I hate hospitals but they really helped me for when I was at my worst.
None of my family came with me to hospital I went all on my own. I was put into a MH recovery unit.

things are now starting to look up. Got my support team in place now. They are a massive help.

Now I'm fighting for the future I want because I don't always want to be like this.

Hi @Fluttershy1

I'm so glad to hear that you are getting help with all of your MH and other issues. Well done! That takes a lot of courage and I'm very proud of you☺️👍!
I'm very happy to hear that you are fighting for the future that you want because that is important in so many ways. It gives you power, control and most of all confidence which are all important, especially when it comes to MH. I've been in the situation lots of times in relation to my father and him not believing in my abilities to study and work because of my MH yet I'm still here and I'm doing both work and study in some form. To me, just doing those things means that he hasn't got power over me and that's important because he was a man who liked to be in control when I was growing up.
Keep your dreams alive and keep on believing that you will get what you want because I'm cheering you on here in the forums!

I think it is empowering what you are doing for yourself @Fluttershy1 You have your supports in place and are actively seeking help whilst also helping yourself - that shows amazing strength and courage Hon. There is so much you have been through that so many of us here understand - and whilst we would never want anyone to go through any of that it does allow us to be able to connect, understand and support each other. Thank you for tagging me into this thread and getting to know a little more about you
