Who would have thought........

Who would have thought........

Over the last two months i have really been struggling not able to face the day, not showering, only up for a couple of hours each day, then back to the safety of bed, to try and try and ward of self harm.

I saw my psychiatrist yesterday and she sugested hospital, but i dont want that.

Anyway today my teenage granddaughter rang me and asked me if i had any jobs she could do to earn some money as she wants to go to a concert in september. Well i jumped at the opportunity. So she cleaned up for acouple of hours. I felt so relieved. I couldnt stop thanking her and telling her how much it means to me. I feel like a weight has been lifted from me. She is going to come every friday when she finishes school (shes in year twelve)

I never would have thought something so simple would make such adifference . Its a win win situation, with the knowledge she cares

i havent been able communicate to my husband how bad i have really felt.I get the feeling that if he leaves it sooner or later i will do it. And he isnt doing me any favours if he does it. He basically leaves me to it. Stay in bed or get up, he thinks i will just pull out of it..

Anyway for now, i am experiencing a measure of relief. Help can come in the most unexpected ways sometimes. There is hope where i felt totally hopeless.

That's great @Chris.
Having a clean house makes such a difference.
Have you got anyone who you can confide in, as well as your psychiatrist? It might help you if you are able to talk to someone about how you're feeling.

Don't you feel that you can tell your husband?
It sounds like you need support.

I'm glad that your grand daughter can come every week to clean your house, that's a huge relief for you.

Feel free to chat on here anytime and have a look around on here at different discussions that are going on day and night. Hopefully it will help you to chat to people that understand. 😊

Sorry to hear that you are going through such an awful time.

Hi @Chris

I am also sorry you are going through such a bad time - and so glad your grand-daughter is willing and able to help out

About your husband - I had of of them once - I understand what you mean - my daughter was happy to be paid to do extra chores when she was young - I was busy with two jobs and studying part time at university so it was't my health - it was the work and study - I needed the time and Daughter certainly liked the money

But you must be feeling terribly unwell to spend so much time in bed - I think you must be exhausted -

I am glad you have let us know - and it is good news that your grand-daughter is doing this for you

Hi @Chris. I'm happy you have found a solution. Every Friday a chat with your granddaughter and some help around the house.
Maybe on Thursdays you could go and do sone groceries to make something yummy your granddaughter likes. A win win. Brilliant

Thank you everyone for your support. I went grocery shopping with my husband this morning. We stopped for coffee first. I feel like i just want to go to bed again. We have our two yougest grandaughters with us for the weekend. Their dad is here but is quiet unwell today. The girls want to cook with me, told them later. Feel like im losing momentum.

Hi @Chris. You went out for shopping and coffee. Good on you. If you are tired when you get back - have a nap. Your hhusband can watch the grandkids for an hr. Then you may have the energy to do some baking with them after.

Re: Who would have thought........

Well ive had a bit of quiet time and sent an email go my psychiatrist who i will see on Tuesday. Because i am feeling more and more withdrawn, it was a way of letting him know what is happening now. On the surface i look ok, i sound ok, but on the inside i am very much not ok. Well now to cook dinner for two hungry liitle girls.

I understand. Like a duck. Calm on the surface, but underneath you are going a million miles. Putting on a happy face.
Great idea to email your psychiatrist. At least that way, he will know exactly how things are and all your questions will be asked.
I hope you enjoy your dinner and you and the grandkids get an early nights sleep
