Hi All

Hi All

Hi, I am new here and would like to connect with other people who have 'lived experience'.

I am 28yo female and am currently struggling with my own mental health issues. It has been one roller coaster of a year to say the least. My partner has recently been diagnosed with BPD. I am depressed and finding his 'splitting' more difficult to cope with than ever before.

My question is, does it get easier caring for a loved one with BPD? Is it possible to maintain a healthy functioning relationship with them? At which point do you begin sacrificing your own mental health?

Any advice and support will be greatly appreciated

Welcome, @Fallen1 . It's good you've joined the forums, where people can understand what you're going through.

I have no answers, but SANE does also have a Friends, Families and Carers Forum where you might be able to get some answers. Feel free to post on there if you like. You can of course also post here for support about your own lived experience with MI (mental illness).

A handy forum tip is to type @ and then click on a member's name in the drop-down box, to tag someone you're replying to and send them a notification that you're speaking to them. You can also type 'BPD' or any subject into the search bar to search for threads on that topic.

I hope you enjoy exploring the forums.

Hello @NatureLover,

Thank you for your reply and warm welcome!

That is great advice, I will definitely reach out on the carers forum also.
