I'm new to the site and I want to say that we are all very strong and it is the first time I have disclosed, the fact that I have four personalities besides me. All are separate and have their own personal interests and experience.
I want to text anyone who has them or knows, in the group forum.

Welcome to the forums, @Hopefully ! Good for you for disclosing about your 4 alters for the first time. There are people here who can relate.
I admire people who manage with alters... Do you find it difficult at all?
Please feel free to share whatever you'd like, within the guidelines . You can also search for any topic in the search bar. A handy forum tip is that if you type @ and then click on a member's name in the drop-down box, that person will get a notification that you've replied to them.

I have 3 safe alters and 1 unsafe alter, the safe alters are always by my side but when I'm in distress my unsafe one comes out.
I have been diagnosed with DID so I will dissociate aswell when I find myself in a distressing situation or a unsafe situation. Then my alters will come out and take over to keep me safe.

Hi @Fluttershy1 ...that's interesting. I hope you won't find this intrusive, but may I ask what an "unsafe" alter is? How is it unsafe? No pressure at all to reply, if you'd rather not!

A unsafe alter is a alter so encourages bad behaviour or unsafe behaviour and all that.

That must be difficult, when you're in distress and your unsafe alter comes out.

@Fluttershy1 I guess that's true... I am always impressed with how people manage with multiple personalities. I take my hat off to you. I'm aware that they have arisen to keep you safe and enable you to survive (please correct me if I'm wrong)...but it must be hard when you don't know when they will take over, and when one of them is actually unsafe. 😞
P.S. I really like your avatar...it's so cheerful and pretty.

@NatureLover - I have named all of my alters so I know who is who. They will do there best to protect me when I'm at my worst. They try to keep the unsafe alter away from me because it makes me worse.

I had heard that there was usually a 'protector' alter, but it sounds like you have several 'protector' alters? Unless I've got it wrong?
