Dealing with elderly relative
Hi new to forums but don't know who to talk too, sorry if this is too long, don't know how to deal with my 86 year old aunt who recently fractured her humuous, I'm the only living relative other than my kids. She has always been independent and hates to be a burden. She staying with me as she can not shower or dress herself and paying for a private carer is out of reach and getting her access for govt help takes too long She is very demanding and wants everything done yesterday. I am trying to juggle looking after her and working. I am also recovering from a cervical lemectomy. So lifting and putting strain on my neck is not a good combination. I get frustrted and usually i wind up arguing with her. It always winds up being me who the problem she does not believe she in the wrong. I can't sleep and feel guilty that I can't deal with her better. My husband does not help much so its all left to me and my kids avoid visiting while she is here. Feeling frustrated and alone.
