Re: Anxiety
Hi Flower88, I just saw your post and was curious to find out what PPPD is. I had a quick look on the web and found out what it is. Have you been living with this condition for long? I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression a few years ago but it has taken me until now to feel any better. I found I had to trial quite a few meds, psychs and relaxation techniques etc. before I began to improve. What obstacles are you coming up against? Is there anything you think might help with your recovery? Just be kind to yourself and know that your life will improve. It will take time and patience. You have taken the first step by telling your story on this forum. Well done. Hope to hear from you again soon.

Re: Anxiety
Unfortunately, as is common with MI , those that don't have it find it hard to understand. But by giving them material to read, they can refer back yo it time and again.

Re: Anxiety
hi @Flower88 I hope that you dont mind me asking what PPPD stands for. Im way to tired to google it, but am interested in knowing.
I joined saneAustralia this week. Really needed someone to talk to as I have had to isolate myself from family and friends, so I think that I understand how youre feeling regarding, not seeing your family. Its not easy seperating oneself from family when youve been close.
My family have always been there and we were always together, like in the Big Fat Greek Wedding movie. The trouble is I became the people pleaser and completely ignored my feelings regarding traumas that have happened in my life. I cant have anything to do with my siblings and see very little of my mother. It took a long time to come to terms with the fact that I have no family to spend time with anymore. But it was causing too much upset and stress for me and I could see that I would never get well if I had them in my life. I also had awful judgemental messages from one of my siblings. In the end I blocked them off facebook. its been a difficult decision, as my daughter now has no relationship with any of them. I have always left the decision up to her, but she chooses not to, as she sees how they treat me.
The saddest and hardest thing out of it all, is distancing myself from my mother, as she is getting very old and I always have thought that I would be there for her to help her. I see her occassionally, but it is a strained conversation, as I dont want to talk about my siblings or their families at all.
So theres just the 3 of us, my hubby, daughter ad myself. Thats all I can cope with at the moment.
it sounds like you need to think of yourself and take time to allow yourself to heal. Sad that sometimes family can often cause too much stress in our lives. But it seems that they cannot understand what it is like to have anxiety etcetera. I struggle with PTSD, severe anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue and other health issues.
Look after yourself and do what you need to do to get well and then you will be able to let your family and friends back into your life.
Sorry for the long story, Im a bit of a chatterbox, haha! It comes from having to hide away from everyone to try and cope with life. It wont always be like this and neither will it for you.
I hope that you find it helpful chatting on here to people. We are all going through similar things and its great that we can chat and understand each other and encourage each other.
Look forward to hearing how youre going. xo
